@japan_nobunaga As much as I would love to go back to the world as it was in my childhood, I will have much greater joy providing that for my son, even in this crazy world.
@martianwyrdlord The main issue is that management thinks AI can replace good engineers so they can reduce or replace them with Indians. While AI is useful it isn’t a replacement yet, so some of these companies are going to get wrecked when they suddenly need the expertise they’ve spurned.
@martianwyrdlord It’s possible there is a hiccup on their planned path of ascendancy, but even if so I think it only derails them for a few years at most. They will push through this, too much is riding on it and the promise of crashing the value of labor is too appealing to the elites.
@kenzietuff It feels odd passing on your name, I went with my father’s name for my son, and I feel that is a good way to pass down names. My father earned it. I hope to earn that as well in time.
@HMBohemond I play night lords because I had a friend that played them 25 years ago. I think he played them because he liked the symbol & lightning armor. I don’t really care about the modern fluff. I miss when the setting was less defined, & everyone had their own personal warband lore.
@SandyofCthulhu@DyingBreedTT I remember in the mid 90’s I wanted a game I saw advertised in a magazine and my dad went online and saw a few patches for it and told me it was likely a pretty buggy game if they had to put out 4 patches! 😂
@SandyofCthulhu@GPrime85 We need to merge these two thing, we need classic sculpture with cool monsters battling classic heroes. I just need to win the lottery first.
@camhigby As much as it sucks, this type of overbearing maternal pressure will certainly back fire for the majority and they will seek better masculine role models in rebellion as they grow up. We, as men, must be there in our community to provide that.
@marewho12 Hey it’d be worse to arrive and find the ruins of that civilization, that failed even with that high tech. Though it’d make a good setting for a wargame or RPG.
@Rman_RoR@Hirasawa_n1k2 I guess I am one of the anti-GW 3d printers. Partially out of dislike for the lore changes in recent times, but mostly it’s just due to preferring the look of older minis. Also helps to be able to be more carefree with trying out new painting ideas because prints are so cheap.
@SandyofCthulhu Man, I’ll give him that some of the most painful games I’ve played were amateur first draft playtests, but also some of my best memories of games have been odd ball amateur games hosted at conventions. Rarely do games with such soul make it though corporate refinement.
