Welcome! This thread is where I'll be gathering some basic info on my most played D&D characters, so you have an idea of who I'll be rambling about!
Eimear (monk/cleric)
Halvar ( paladin/sorcerer)
Shamsiel (warlock)
Nadder (paladin)
Sheol (wizard)
Cecil (Rogue/Bard)
I keep forgetting I have a D&D twitter I should rt stuff like this to... Anyway yes, new boy for Ice Spire Peak! It's going to be my first time testing out the Undead patron warlock from Van Richten's so I'm pretty excited.
I've sadly been losing my passion for d&D a littlebit over the last few years, but reflecting on my years of playing made me realise that... I really did feel most in my element when playing weird little high int freaks huh.
@LaurensPlompen An hour of almost complete control is sadly still more than enough to bypass entire encounters and sour any potential allegiances... At least in the scenarios it has happened so far. It's caused everything to escalate, but only in ways that make it even harder for me lol
When I say I struggle with improv as a dm I don't mean I struggle to come up with what would happen next as a consequence of player actions. I mean I struggle with how to channel the chaos back into narratively and thematically satisfying Plot Beats without steering too much
In my last session, the party managed to Fast Friends their way around an encounter (the third (!) backup hook into the main plot for this area) yet again. I saw all my prep crumbling before my eyes and just needed to stop there so I could think... I can't help but feel I failed
Yesterday we had the bright idea of defeating a bunch of gas spores by summoning a portable sphere of annihilation and then blowing them into it with gust of wind... a little overkill perhaps
Doing portraits for all of the npcs you introduce in an area is fun and useful for your players but also useful for yourself... it wasn't until I took a step back that I realised I only made 2 male characters in this entire arc wahah
My players are only now starting to crack open that can of worms proper, but the idea of a blood god not necessarily being evil was something I've been wanting to play with for a long time now
For the D&D nerds in the audience... she's an oblex. In my campaign, blood houses the animating spirit of all things living, aka the soul. A big red ooze that feeds on memories slotted into that almost too perfectly to pass up.
Another D&D npc I can now post without spoiling my players! Saga, a blood god cultist who sacrificed her physical body to become a soul-eating blood monster... somehow she's lawful neutral
D&d beyond, for the love of god... why in the kentucky fried fUCK would you allow me to pick paypal as a payment option only to then ask for a credit card anyway. I don't Want to use a credit card when paypal was fine for many years. You useless bastards
still have to work out the details but what I have is that she was a trauma surgeon that had most of her body replaced by augments after she was pushed in front of a train and now has to pay off those debts by running augment repo for the company. very juicy
Now that our Descent into Avernus campaign ended we're about to switch to a cyberpunk game and I already know I want to play a cyborg... so ofcourse I will be making a cyborg milf at my earliest convenience
I ended up not going as hard on the 'dragged into the water' bit as I'd planned originally because my players took a bit of a beating already and I figured it'd become tedious... but they were having fun taking on the enemies in creative ways which is always great
I quite like this combat map I made for our current fight hu hu hu... there's a giant maelstrom in the water and water elementals and shorestalkers and hippocampi and a giant watery tentacle dragging people in βΊοΈ
My D&D homebrew campaign, From the Wandering Isle, turns 2 years old tomorrow... It's crazy to see how far we've come already and how much is left to go. I'm so blessed to have the amazing players I do. Here's to 2 more years of wandering ποΈβ¨
