@Monsterclowd@Awesome_Man20@SquidrowWilson @TruthTellrNolan @NarataCards @StitchJoker @MauLer93 The show runners were also largely just interested in the Red Wedding and then moving on after that. George was one of the voices that pushed for an extra season or else the final season probably would have been even worse and more rushed.
@Monsterclowd@Awesome_Man20@SquidrowWilson @TruthTellrNolan @NarataCards @StitchJoker @MauLer93 He had zero ability to effect the quality of the original show and eventually Martin let Dan and Dave do their thing. He isn't the reason the show was terrible in the final two seasons.
@Monsterclowd@Awesome_Man20@SquidrowWilson @TruthTellrNolan @NarataCards @StitchJoker @MauLer93 You call it bad faith for what reason? If the show ends up bad, this will not be one of the reasons. If George thought him being black hurt the story in any way, he'd probably have made that character much more important than what he was.
@Monsterclowd@Awesome_Man20@SquidrowWilson @TruthTellrNolan @NarataCards @StitchJoker @MauLer93 There is a huge difference between the liberties Rings of Power is taking and what we have seen so far with House of Dragon. They aren't even comparable. A non black character becoming black is not as breaking as rewriting entire societies, writing out characters etc.
@Monsterclowd@Awesome_Man20@SquidrowWilson @TruthTellrNolan @NarataCards @StitchJoker @MauLer93 Because his story didn't matter in Fire and Blood and if it matters in the show than they're essentially two different characters. Fire and Blood wasn't as big with specifics with a lot of the characters mentioned so a lot of it will be up to the show runners.
@Monsterclowd@Awesome_Man20@SquidrowWilson @TruthTellrNolan @NarataCards @StitchJoker @MauLer93 You think that's breaking lore? He isn't even that major of a figure in the overall plot. The characters in Fire and Blood are just supporting the Targaryens. It isn't like it'd a major change. I'd wait to see the story first.
@Monsterclowd@Awesome_Man20@SquidrowWilson @TruthTellrNolan @NarataCards @StitchJoker @MauLer93 The skin color of a Valaryon is not an important part of the lore and unless they start breaking from the lore in a lot of other ways like other shows and movies have done, it's silly to assume this is going to do the same. Besidss George has been relatively involved with this
@Monsterclowd@Awesome_Man20@SquidrowWilson @TruthTellrNolan @NarataCards @StitchJoker @MauLer93 The casting doesn't effect the plot of the show in the least bit. How does a black Valaryon effect the show? It doesn't.
And no, the joke wasn't cool that's why he deleted it. Just calling any black man Bob Marley because they have dreads isn't really a joke.
@Monsterclowd@Awesome_Man20@SquidrowWilson @TruthTellrNolan @NarataCards @StitchJoker @MauLer93 First I only pointed out how in bad taste the comment is. He looks nothing like Bob Marley, it isn't funny and it isn't cool.
Second, the casting has nothing to do with the writing.
@Monsterclowd@Awesome_Man20@SquidrowWilson @TruthTellrNolan @NarataCards @StitchJoker @MauLer93 That wasn't the point, you acted like it was made to start a discussion. Other people didn't think it was made in good faith or a good comment. No reason to die on a hill defending it. Besides it had no merit to begin with, the casting isn't going to determine the shows quality.
@Monsterclowd@Awesome_Man20@SquidrowWilson @TruthTellrNolan @NarataCards @StitchJoker @MauLer93 The original tweet was racist and implied there was a problem solely because Bob Marley with blonde hair was in the show. That clearly wasn't a tweet looking for an honest discussion.
