I feel like the part of Obsession that didn’t connect for me is that 50% of what she did wasn’t actually related to being obsessed and was more like just random “creepy” shit
@polypocketknife I think that’s probably one of the things in the movie with a better nexus with the wish, tho it still gets at what I find mostly uninteresting about its take on the subject
I think if the standard we have for what counts as a “feminist” movie is some tacit textual acceptance that victimizing women is bad then basically all slashers are feminist

to them being seen as a transmisogynist caricature is the ultimate sign of AMABness (rejection of their own assigned gender) and trying to claim trans women's belonging to womanhood undermines the power of their presentation goal
not coincidental that a lot of the guys who have a chip on their shoulder about trans women and act like they have some sort of male stain also try to present like they are gonna be on a transmisogynist sissy fetishist crime blotter collage that terfs spam under every trans post
2020s have had maybe 1 meaningful protest movement that wasn't just a continuation of the 2010s, i feel like the self satisfaction is a bit unwarranted
@Puckmeat i suspect that part of it is that its shown as a reaction to like a trans supportive environment which many people dont have but wish they did
