@PhilliesJake@theMFingIcon@bendednikes@Philthy_Sports I’m sorry you convinced yourself that a player who hits 34 HRs, 100 RBIs with a .310 average was only worth $100 million. Machado’s average was 28 HRs, 86 RBIs and a .279 average with Baltimore and he got $300 million and that’s over 162 games but he missed time with injury
@PhilliesJake@theMFingIcon@bendednikes@Philthy_Sports $100 million for 5 years of a player that plays every day and will average what he’s averaged is the going rate for that production. If he was truly a 34+ 100 RBI .310 hitter every year he would get way more money than $100 million. Bryant got $170 million the same year
@PhilliesJake@theMFingIcon@bendednikes@Philthy_Sports You think he’s awful. I’m asking you what teams he wouldn’t be a starter on. If you can’t name 15+ then he’s objectively an average OF.
He’s also the 65th highest paid player. It’s not like we’re paying top dollar for him.
@bendednikes@theMFingIcon@PhilliesJake@Philthy_Sports In the 2023 playoffs he had 5 HRs. In the 2024 playoffs he batted a .413 with 3 RBIs in 4 games while scoring the go ahead run in the 8th inning and driving in the winning run in the 9th to win Game 2 against the Mets.
@bendednikes@theMFingIcon@PhilliesJake@Philthy_Sports He’s a definite starter on probably 25+ teams at least while being the 65th highest paid player in baseball. He’s not our cleanup guy with Schwarber in the 4 spot. He’s an effective 5/6/7 hitter thats clutch in the playoffs
@bendednikes@theMFingIcon@PhilliesJake@Philthy_Sports You still haven’t named teams he wouldn’t be a starter.
He’s a run producer. 2023 he was 8th in RBIs and 17 RBIs in the last 3 postseasons including 3 in 4 games with a .414 against the Mets
@bendednikes@theMFingIcon@PhilliesJake@Philthy_Sports His first three 3 years, he’s averaged 30 2Bs, 21 HRs, 85 RBIs and .263 average while only having 3 errors in the OF over 428 games. He’s the 65th highest paid player. In 2023 playoffs he had 5 HRs and last year batted a .412. Tell me how many teams he wouldn’t start on
