Romanian politician Mihai Lasca is exposing what he calls the EU-ordered massacre of sheep and goats across Romania.
Recent figures include:
• 1,800 sheep and goats slaughtered at one farm in Buzău
• Over 1,500 animals killed in Mureș, including 850 sheep and 150 lambs electrocuted
Lasca accuses the EU of using “invented diseases” as a pretext to force the culls. He has stood with shepherds since 2024, helping them organize resistance, and vows to continue the fight in 2026. He is calling on all Romanians and shepherds to unite: “Wake up! Stand with the shepherds!”

Romania has a centuries-old tradition of sheep and goat farming. EU regulations (often justified by disease control) are leading to large-scale culling of livestock. Many farmers and nationalists see this as economic destruction and foreign interference in traditional Romanian agriculture. Lasca is positioning himself as a defender of rural communities against these policies.
This is part of growing resistance in Romania against EU agricultural and environmental rules that directly impact local farmers.
