I watched a recording of Alex’s funeral one day last spring, and it absolutely wrecked me.
I am so sorry for your loss, @forestclev_.
Thank you for the brutal honesty of this piece. Adults need to take the time to read it:

@mandy_mclaren Thank you for taking the time to read through the full piece and for sharing it. I wish none of this had happened, but I hope some real change comes from it.
I’m Morgan McGarvey. I’m the Senate Democratic Leader here in Kentucky and this week I announced that I am running for the Congressional seat that Congressman Yarmuth is retiring from. Can you take a moment and retweet this and follow this account to join our campaign?
The outpouring of support is genuinely humbling. I’m honored to have all of these local leaders as a part of our campaign. And another huge thank you to everyone who has already chipped in.
@Hooplogic@MorganMcGarvey @cliffysmalls It hasn't passed the House yet - if it does, it will head to Gov. Beshear.
BUT the KY legislature can override vetoes with only a simple-majority. In other words, they will override all of his vetoes.
Then it would go to the courts, who would hopfully find it unconstitutional.
@StevenStackMD I genuinely don't know what to do. And if we're going to be stuck like this, I feel like it would be safer for my mental and physical health to not be in school next semester.
@StevenStackMD What do we do when our state's universities aren't following this? I have to go in UofL's library for an in-person class & it looks like COVID doesn't exist. Virtually every person above the 1st floor is unmasked - including dozens of people in groups at tables next to eachother
@StevenStackMD And how do we handle it when our professors insist on taking their masks off to lecture - citing university policy that allows them to - for an hour and 15 minute lecture?
@StevenStackMD And how do we handle it when Greek Life continues to party? I know some students have tried to whistle-blow, but they've been ostracized in a toxic cover-up culture including faculty advisors.
