I live in a small town where everyone knows everyone, the rain has opinions, and a trip to the grocery store can somehow become a two-hour event.
I like it here.
Mostly.
Odd observation: there’s a specific kind of silence right before it starts raining.
The birds go quiet, the trees stop moving, and for about thirty seconds the whole town feels like it’s waiting for someone to say something.
Odd observation: crows seem to know exactly when you’re carrying something you don’t want them to steal.
They’ll ignore you completely until you’re holding the one interesting thing, then suddenly you have an audience.
Still thinking about Bat Night at Comox Lake. Turns out watching bats swoop over the water at dusk is considerably more magical than I had anticipated.
Also learned that I have absolutely no idea how to use binoculars.
