“Impermanent Loss” ever wondered how it's works

Imagine you provide liquidity to an ETH/USDC pool.

You deposit:
1 ETH = $2,000
2,000 USDC = $2,000

Total = $4,000.

If ETH later rises to $4,000, the AMM automatically rebalances the pool as traders buy ETH.

Your assets may now be worth less than if you had simply held the original 1 ETH + 2,000 USDC.

That difference is called Impermanent Loss (IL).

The bigger the price change between the two assets, the greater the potential IL.

But remember: LPs also earn trading fees, which can offset the loss.

And it’s called “impermanent” because it can disappear if prices return to their original relationship.

In simple term:
Price moves - Pool rebalances - Asset amounts change - IL may occur.
