@FaithF33d I hit 9 years sober back in May. I don't even miss it. The guy that needed to drink back then no longer exists. Keep at it. I believe in you.
The fact that our time here is limited is what makes our time valuable. If we were immortal not much would be important because we'd get around to it eventually. But because we've borrowed this body for a limited time to experience life on earth we need to make the most of it.
@Sofia50020Sofia Depression has a purpose. It's supposed to get us to disengage activities that don't serve us, forcing us to rest. It's like a warning light in your dashboard. It's just letting us know something needs attention. Unplugging the light doesn't fix the problem.
I saw something the other day that said "The first man that hurled an insult instead of a stone was the founder of civilization." That idea was fun to think about.
If I could erase the mistakes I've made and retain the wisdom from them I would. But they are inseparable. You can't know a path until you've traveled it.
You can't control what people think about you. When a person with a negative mindset thinks about you, you become a passenger on that negative train of thought.
On the morning of July 4th I broke my heel and ankle at work. Yesterday morning I had surgery to repair it. I'm in an incredible amount of pain. I have a long road to recovery ahead of me but long doesn't have to be bad.
