The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is running one of the largest anti-left-wing surveillance operations in U.S. history, according to WIRED.
Attorneys for 15 Minnesota residents facing federal conspiracy charges have obtained records showing HSI conducted sweeping spying on left-wing activists under operations including Project Whipple Shield and Operation Puppet Master, authorized by National Security Presidential Memorandum 7. President Donald Trump signed the memorandum in September 2025, following the assassination of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk.
The effort, which experts compare to COINTELPRO, involved roughly 120 HSI agents, including 11 undercovers, who infiltrated activist groups, churches, martial arts trainings, marches, and Signal chats. Agents used Reaper drones and PATRIOT Act-era tools, photographed vehicles, and monitored conferences in other cities. Prosecutors claim the defendants organized to impede ICE during Operation Metro Surge; defense attorneys say the charges criminalize lawful protest.
Newly disclosed DHS records detail undercover agents posing as community members. One, using the Signal username “peanutbutterjelly,” attended “ICE watch” and legal observer trainings, screenshot protest plans, offered help with fundraising and flyers, and reported no threats to public safety.
Other agents photographed demonstrators, trailed individuals to coffee shops and churches, and attended meetings of groups like the Sunrise Movement and the Party for Socialism and Liberation, where discussions focused on peaceful protest. A DHS spokesperson declined to comment on specific methods.

Guys, I beg you to start being the person you wish to be. This study found that just 5 minutes a day of imagining your best possible self, for two weeks, made people noticeably more optimistic about their future. Picture who you want to be, then go act like them today.
The absolute gymnastics required to say (but not say) that Hunter Biden (or any Biden) is a better person than Donald Trump
Amazing, Truly.
“…a jury found Trump liable…” grow up.
Hunter has written about much of this himself. Fine, judge him. But a jury found Trump liable for sexual abuse and another convicted him on 34 felony counts (appeal pending). If family values is the test, you're grading on a curve. Check the receipts.
It’s also indicative of just how good Republicans are at stirring up controversy over nothing. Look at everything Trump has gotten away with over the years, while Obama mentions the cheesecake factory and they make it a national story. They’re very very good at this.
Obama was a divisive president, and not because of dumb stuff like this.
Rather because he is an AntiAmerican to his core, and his stated goal was a “fundamental transformation” of America.
You can tell he meant to 3rd-world values, because he abused his power for The Party.
Perhaps people have forgotten or were too young to remember but when conservatives swear to you that Obama was a divisive president, it’s because of stuff like this. He would say the most innocuous thing and we would get days of “Dem elitist” commentary from conservative media and pundits.
Again, it’s not lost on me that Obama compared Trump’s taste to that of Saddam Hussein in the same breath, and that Trump literally said he didn’t care about high gas prices the same day, yet none of that broke through. Because perceived threats to white cultural hegemony are actually what most of the last 10 years of politics have been about.
It’s the same reason why a Democrat’s career would be over for trashing Toledo, Ohio, why we still talk about Hillary’s “deplorables” gaffe, but Republicans say awful things about America’s largest cities and deny them federal funds and there’s barely a whimper of outrage.
Voters under 30 consider:
Have you been hoaxed about Trump, who felt this tweet, over a decade ago, and decided to do something about it?
Who is against him today?
Bush. Obama. Clinton.
McCain. Pelosi. Cheney.
When you consider George W. Bush inherited a budget surplus from the good 90s economy, then used 9/11 to start 20 year wars while doing tax cuts, then bailed out the banks that gave us the 2008 financial crisis…the excitement makes some sense in hindsight.
But Obama just decided to sell out and get rich. His main legislative ‘achievement’ is healthcare premiums that are bankrupting the middle class. He squandered the chance to be a transformative POTUS to live on Martha’s Vinyard with Netflix $$.
I tried to like this guy, I really did. As an American with a different perspective, I gave Yann the same chance I once gave Obama in 2009.
Despite my honesty and honor towards them both, both of those “men” today still see me this way: A MAGAt.
@pmddomingos He is only irritating for racists, fascists, MAGAts, and many other anti-liberals, because he is smart, politically astute, effective, and mostly right.
@chelleyourself Feels like if that were True, there would be a shred of evidence over the last decade to support it.
Instead, it’s been 10 years of lame innuendo.
I wasn’t a close follower of @charliekirk11 but I’ve noticed that every hater and skeptic of his would absolutely fail the moment if handed a microphone and asked what *they* believe.
i am coming to the conclusion that the reason that so many of these college students so rabidly hated charlie is not because of what he said when he was holding the mic but rather what he asked them to say when he handed the mic to them.
there's a stunning incoherence to their views. so angry, so confident, so entitled, and so completely, utterly unable to explain why or what they even believe.
never have so many known so little and yet felt so certain about so much.
there is no capacity for critical thinking or discourse, not even a basic semantic grasp of the concepts.
it's just an entitlement-flavored word salad spewed forth as some talismanic claim to deference and respect.
the greatest vulnerability of the marxist midwiped is being asked to explain what they are talking about.
ask what their magic words mean, why they use them, what they signify, how the problems and processes they posit work.
ask how they would do things.
ask what they are asking for.
the results are amazing.
“The only reason the Iran war is still a thing is Trump has stubbornly refused to blow up their civilian infrastructure like Obama did with Libya and Syria.”
Whatever you think of the merits of bombing Iran, the idea that Obama solved everything with “diplomacy” is clearly not true.
The only reason the Iran war is still a thing is Trump has stubbornly refused to blow up their civilian infrastructure like Obama did with Libya and Syria.
Everybody knows Iran was rapidly developing missiles (including intercontinental capabilities) with the intent of making the cost of deterrence too high, while still enriching Uranium despite the Obama deal.
If that status quo had continued the US would have been stuck in a perpetual balance of power in the Middle East unable to act but unable to leave.
Trump has painstakingly givin Iran every single chance they can to figure it out before we finish them. He called off Israel’s bombers in the 12 day war and gave Iran a whole year to negotiate. He destroyed their military in a controlled manner, brute force opened the Strait, still without taking out their power and water.
Trump doesn’t need to invade, nobody cares about Irans mountains, we can see everything they do from space. Hopefully he won’t even have to blow Iran up. It is a serious thing and Iran should be given every chance. But it is ultimately up to them as they are only surviving by our grace.
This is a sad and desperate tweet from Elon.
In the meantime, Ukrainians are suffering and need more American (and European) support. Not less.
Shame to use an invasion as a bargaining chip.
