Here is another case of power-tripping.

Why are they casting a non-European as a European Goddess?

It is, contrary to what some think, not to make non-Europeans feel represented and included.

Their motives are more sinister.

They do it because they know it will cause offence to people who care about these matters.

Who are the people that care about these matters?

The same people who like beautiful architecture, clean streets, polite conduct in society. In their words “Right-wing extremists”, “Fascists”, “Reactionaries” – they have many terms they like to label non-chaotic people with.

In a sense, I am (unfortunately) giving them the satisfaction in making this post (i.e. by showing my displeasure). But I am doing it anyway to spread knowledge (it is important to know their tactics).

Again, their purpose is to spite us. They get a rush when they take something precious to us.

I am not saying that the young actress is unattractive or bad – what I am saying is that she was chosen for the role based on the fact that she does not look like how Athena was ever described.

I feel a certain level of compassion for the actress. It is humiliating for her.

Just as it would be humiliating for me if someone wanted me for a role as a historically important Polynesian warchief just to spite the Polynesians (to just use a random example).
