Mr. Fani-Kayode, it is often said that a man may be schooled yet remain foolish in the matters of life. Your words prove that point all too clearly. You speak with the arrogance of a man who confuses opportunism with wisdom, and in doing so, you insult the intelligence of Nigerians.

Let’s set the record straight: God does not sit in Aso Rock to decide who rules this nation, the people do. That is the meaning of democracy. That is the essence of elections. The role of a true patriot, a statesman worth listening to, is to demand free and fair elections, a system where every citizen’s vote counts, where no cabal, no electoral body, no judiciary, and no backroom deals can silence the will of the people.

We witnessed what played out in 2023, the sham, the manipulations, the betrayal of trust. We know the roles INEC and the judiciary played. Do not insult us by pretending otherwise. Other candidates have every right to contest just as Tinubu did, and if he is voted out in 2027, heaven will not fall. Jonathan was voted out in 2015, and the earth did not split open. Power changes hands; that is the rhythm of democracy. Only sycophants fear it.

But instead of championing the people’s rights, you bend yourself into a servant of power, angling for appointments and scraps from the table. You raise your voice when Israel bombs Gaza, yet you are silent when Nigeria bleeds, when villages are torched, when children are kidnapped, when families are slaughtered and displaced across this land. Your selective outrage betrays your conscience. Your silence is complicit.

And what of your history? Do you think we have forgotten your tongue? The same mouth that now sings Tinubu’s praises once spat venom on his name. You called him every manner of derogatory word. You branded him unfit. Yet here you are, bowing before him like an errand boy, desperate for validation, stripped of all consistency and dignity. What changed? Nothing but your own hunger for relevance and power.

Let me remind you: Nigeria is bigger than you. Bigger than Tinubu. Bigger than any individual who believes their position grants them the right to trample on the people’s will. This country has been dragged through the mud for too long, bled dry by opportunists, sold out by men who put ambition over truth. But Nigerians are not blind. We are not voiceless. We will resist fiercely and unapologetically any attempt by you or anyone else to silence our right to choose the destiny of this land.

Your words are hollow. Your loyalty is for sale. And your character is a cautionary tale of what happens when ambition devours principle.
