Ogiek Sister's for Sister's yesterday ended a two day community consultation dialogue on development of 4th Universal Periodic Review under UNDROP.The project was supported by CEMIRIDE and Rights - based and Agroecological Initiatives for Sustainability and Equity in community

At Midnight, Citizen TV posted a piece of news that broke me into pieces.

"4 out of 5 school-going girls in our rural Kenya are getting sanitary pads from their sexual partners."

How are we allowing this to happen? Why are we doing this to our girls?

Parents should talk to teens about sex openly and honestly, discussing risks and consequences, and providing resources for healthy choices. Teens should know they can come to their parents for advice.

O.S.S held a mentorship program at Timdolel Primary & Mariashoni Primary at Elburgon, Nakuru county. We discussed matters on Sexual Reproductive Health with over 250 girls who also benefited with reusable sanitary towels which they can be used up to 3 yrs if used well.
