Car Body Buck -MC MKI.
A bespoke car for total gentleman. The donor chassis was scanned and the buck designed to fit over it in order that the stance of the car could be resolved before metalwork even began. The finished car was displayed in the RAC Club's, Pall Mall, rotunda.

Ohh the marker dots! We invested in equipment so these have not been required for our scans for over a decade. Was absolutely petrified of damaging paintwork when removing them.
A story that can be told about this particular scan as the person involved has passed. Scan happened circa 2009. I was told the car had never been scanned before. Data to be kept secure. Such a privilege etc. and so on. Well, on putting on the dots I found some under the rear that a previous scanner had failed to remove...
This data reduces the risk of errors in the design and fabrication process. Our 3D scan data is used for: Body Bucks, CAD Modeling, and 3D Printing.

In the car and ready to go to Beaulieu. The Sunbeam 350HP money box. To this day it is in the Land Speed record area of the museum collecting funds to aid restorations.

A few days ago I posted about the buck for the Speciale being delivered in sections. Today, the buck is shown used and disassembled after doing its job. Our bucks normally are designed to flat pack entirely.

Car Body Buck - Ferrari 275 GTB/C Speciale replica.
Pre-assembled buck sections on their way to the body maker. The project for the 275 Speciale involved amending a 275 3D scan, building in the front and rear glass to save that area of fit needing to be thought out on the workshop floor and blending it all into a buck of my design.
The most valuable tool a fabricator can have for a complex body build. The buck provides the physical "truth" of the car's digitally-perfected surface. The most reliable way to check panel contours and alignments during a build.

Car Body Buck - Rolls Royce Phantom II Brewster.
This buck was created for a bespoke rear body I designed, with much input from the clients, for the Phantom pictured in the background. Inspiration was a Brewster design. Loved this one as it was sort of reverse engineering the way cars were sold in the period. You bought chassis, running gear and everything in front of the bulkhead.
