This is an exact post of someone trying to justify the Akara conversation today. Some Nigerians are not only dishonest, they are vile and wicked. 50k in 2015 didn't make sense but its good in 2026 because you support the government.
Will anyone in the Presidency from the President down to his SSAs want anyone in their immediate family to fry akara for a living?
Let us all be saying the truth please.
Thats not the argument, some of u are very dishonest. Should a policy be about mor people joining a subpar biz setup or giving good opportunity for them and thier families to exit such jobs and out of poverty line? Why do we lie to ourselves in the name of supporting a government
Nigeria’s classism core: Everybody is now a NEPO baby, we don’t know those who sold Akara and Kuli Kuli again. We all ate home made food by maids and chefs.
Some Nigerians are cruel, selfish and exceptional wicked. You didn't advocate for upskill and quality education for the children of the Akara seller to get the family out of poverty but the should burn more charcoal and fry more because "its been saving lives since 1960s".
Nigerians can be so selfish. 🥲🥹 You have zero issues with funds allocated for ICT, Agriculture, TB, Malnutrition, or Breast Cancer… but you cross the line with grants given to petty traders? These traders have been saving lives since the 1960s, yet you hate Sen Remi Tinubu for giving them grants to support their businesses? 😭
The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has said he would personally prefer a total ban on tinted vehicles nationwide if the decision were solely within his authority.
He said fully tinted vehicles pose serious security risks and are frequently used by kidnappers, armed robbers, and “one-chance” operators.
Thank you for the work you do. Please make examples of people dumping open refuse on the road. A society cannot function without order and consequences of wrong doing. Talking and warning sometimes are not enough! We must all subject ourselves to the environmental laws and order.
The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) Intervention Team has successfully cleared heaps of illegally dumped waste from the median of the Egbeda–Idimu Road and Lawanson, Surulere corridor.
The Authority used the opportunity to reiterate its warning to residents, traders, and motorists against the unlawful disposal of refuse on road medians and other unauthorized locations, noting that such practices obstruct drainage channels, degrade the environment, and pose serious public health risks.
LAWMA urged residents to patronize only approved waste collection services and comply with environmental sanitation regulations, stressing that violators will be sanctioned in accordance with extant laws of Lagos State.

1st he said "Mobile Data" nd yes where it does exists u r paying higher compared 2 prices in Nigeria. Nigeria and Ghana still has 1 of the lowest Telco Tariff plans in the world. Going by Global average, a truely unlimited Mobile Data will start at N40k. How many people will pay?
MTN Nigeria CEO Karl Toriola told Nigerians that unlimited data does not exist anywhere in the world unless you are paying a fortune.
Nigerians abroad immediately responded with screenshots of their unlimited plans costing the equivalent of three hours of minimum wage work in the UK.
Karl said nowhere in the world. Nigerians pulled out receipts from the world.
Let us be factual.
India. Jio offers unlimited data, calls, and SMS for the equivalent of N3,500 a month.
UK. Three UK and O2 have unlimited plans a British minimum wage worker clears in under two hours.
USA. T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon all sell unlimited plans. Widely available, Heavily advertised.
Several African markets including South Africa offer near-unlimited plans at more affordable income-relative prices than Nigeria.
What Karl actually meant to say is this.
Unlimited data does not exist anywhere MTN operates at the prices MTN is willing to charge while maintaining the profit margins required to keep shareholders comfortable.
That is the honest sentence. It is just not one a CEO can say in public.
So he said nowhere in the world instead and hoped Nigerians were too poor and too disconnected to fact-check him.
I have always advocated for opposition parties to invest in Elections technology. Get your agents a basic smart device that can access the internet, or do offline backup of inputted polling booth results and result sheet images transmitted to a public view portal real time STP.
NDC’s New Election Strategy Sparks Debate as Pat Utomi Announces Independent Result Transmission Plan:
Prof. Pat Utomi says the NDC is preparing its own independent election result transmission system ahead of the 2027 elections.
According to him, election results from polling units across Nigeria will be transmitted live and monitored globally through major international media platforms, including CNN, BBC, Al Jazeera, Fox News, and credible Nigerian news outlets.
Utomi also revealed that the party plans to deploy a strong network of polling unit agents nationwide to ensure votes are protected and election officials are not subjected to intimidation.

Lolz if Obi had done this interview, you wont hold this narrative. You would have labeled him "ungrateful to the man that brought him to "National Politics" 🤣🤣🤣". Funny how people dont see through the false logic most of you put out here. Again Goodluck to everyone!
See how Ameachi is competing for the ticket of the ADC. Doing the work . Setting his own narrative and making the electability argument .
Something Peter Obi ran away from and instead pour cold water on opposition efforts to unseat Mr Tinubu at this critical time . History will be unforgiving of his role .
Ameachi is running for the ADC ticket and fairly as it should be .
Seen at interest rates offered at 30 - 40%? How many of your economic power house MSMEs can afford those rates? You all talk about earned rates in investments and market instruments. Anyway, wish you all well but elite gains doesn't translate to collective economic progress.
The biggest problem the Tinubu government has on social media is that the average defender of Bola Tinubu doesn’t understand economics enough to even understand Bola Tinubu’s policies and work. Hence, you see them end up doing a poor job when trying to defend his economic policies. Using Nelfund and Coastal road to defend Tinubu’s economic policies is how you set yourself up for failure.
Perhaps the real problem with the conversation is that anti-Tinubu people want to discuss economics at a grassroots level, at a “how much is rice and garri” level. If you engage in that conversation at that level, Bola Tinubu can only come off as an economic failure. The real achievement of Bola Tinubu that is unparalleled in a very long time is in the market friendly structural fixes. We have seen it in the holy trinity (Interest, inflation and Fx rate), we have seen it in aviation, we have seen it in FDI and FPI drive, we are seeing it in the power sector, there are solid hints of it in the healthcare sector, evidence for it exists in infrastructure, we know the evidence in education and many more.
Is this enough? No, the Nigerian people needs and deserve more. But we are also pragmatic enough to know that multiple decades old problems of Nigeria will not be fixed in 3 years.
That’s said, Nobody begged Bola Tinubu to ask for that job, so, he should go and do the job he signed up for. We wish him and Nigeria all the success.
Rebate on Solar systems offered by the govt for export market penetration will seize from May. Solar Product prices will most likely go up by 30 to 45%.
Multiple news coming from the east is that.. the long summer of cheap renewable systems (solar, batteries especially) fueled by Chinese government subsidies.. is about to come to and end. Price of Lithium batteries and solar panels are about to shoot up as Chinese govt are rolling back subsidies.
If you have any plans to move to solar.. now would be a good time. Prices are about to escalate.
I believe @bokkumart with their cost effective and direct manufacturer supply model should look at possibility of buying over Shoprite Nigeria and run it. With their current operational capability, the will surely win. The concern will mostly be Shoprite's current liabilities.
Shoprite's struggles in Nigeria
There was the macroeconomic part.
Higher procurement costs, lower margins - both becsuse of inflationary pressures in the last five years.
Weak consumer purchasing power because consumers shifted to cheaper informal markets.
In theory, large supermarkets should be cheaper becsuse of scale but the Nigeria's retail system works a bit differently.
In Nigeria, the supply chain bypasses formal retail. Supermarkets often go through a supply chain that adds extra cost layers (logistics, warehouse, etc.).
Also, in terms of overhead, mall supermarkets have structural costs that informal markets do not have (e.g., mall rent - that is often dollar-linked, AC, lightning, generators and diesel, security, large staff).
So even if an informal trader and the supermarket buy at similar prices, the supermarket must add margin to rationalise its extra costs.
In the past, Shoprite survived this because it targeted upper middle class, mall shoppers and expatriates. But once inflation destroyed the purchasing power of middle-class, that customer base shrank.
@FirstBankngr simply said sorry. I am putting it out here that if you use that LIT App, ur details can be compromised and u carry a risk of Fraud Exposure. As for @FirstBankngr expect to legally explain how an account is debited without customers authorization soon. Cc: @cenbank
N450k was transferred out of my Mum's @FirstBankngr account while she was out of the country through thier LIT App. My mum doesn't use any App channel but only branch visits. @FirstBankngr claimed her card was used on LIT but she never onboarded and no validation b4 transfer!
A mutual got debited of 395,424 from her GT bank account for no reason.
She mailed them and was told it will take up to 40-90 days for it to be resolved.
No good respond, no transparency and how it was taken out..
Today she went to the bank and the only good thing they could tell her was that there's nothing they can do..
She was told that even if she likes, let her sleep in rhe bank.
They also told her she was the one that used the money.
She didn't initiate the transaction but GT bank claimed she had used her ATM card to make the transaction..
Since you GT bank claimed the ATM card was used, why not should her the evidence?
At least provide evidence indicating it was through the ATM that the money was deducted..
The nonchalant and "you will do nothing" attitude here is top-notch..
If it was a well known person or a rich person, I am very sure they will try to protect their bank and solve the issue at once..
Please let's create awareness for her so she can recover her Money..
Let's make this known to everyone..
If you have experienced this with any bank, please this is your chance to call them out..
This is the best Time to call them out.. don't air this please..
GT bank refund @AdageorgeA her money please!!!
You people are too funny on this app. 😂
“1.5m is not enough for a wedding.”
“500k is too small for a photographer.”
“Which makeup artiste will collect 120k for wedding makeup?”
Is it that you people cannot imagine a normal wedding that’s not Instagram-inspired again? Or that there’s always a vendor that fits the standard the person can afford?
Like when you think of weddings, you think of social media…forgetting that couples living below minimum wage get married every day?
Like bruh, before you say “it’s not enough for a wedding”, just say “it’s not enough for the kind of wedding in my head” or “500k is not enough for the photographerI chose in my head.”
Whew. People get married with less.
Weddings are expensive, very expensive. But affordable weddings are very possible—and most importantly, they’re done every week.
Lolz what of Northern elected officials that visits bandits in the bush 🤣 or you didn't see the house of assembly member videos? We are one and same with the type of leaders we have. Both actions are wrong and its is not a North vs South conversation!
Weldone Hon. and team, I have always had this technology refresh vision for @NipostNgn Glad to see it come alive through your team. The next play is to rollout logistics aggregation service leveraging NIPOST's asset and locational spread to offer 3rd mile delivery services.
@ProvidusBank caused me a painful loss. Failed to settle @British_Airways for a ticket paid for over 1 month after purchase. BA held the ticket and canceled after I had made plans wit costs running into millions. Money ws returned after I threatened d acct officer wit a lawsuit.
