Our last day of the new Community introduction program. Positive feedback/ constructive comments. Lovely group.
The beginning of a new program for hard working community nurses. Thank you to Ros and Janet for today and all the speakers helping with the program.🥳👏🏾👏🏾
We wouldn't say, I don't think, that nurses 'support' doctors; we would say that they work 'with' doctors & vice versa. It should be the same for unreg' staff - HCAs work 'with 'nurses (or midwives, or physios..) Language matters. It shapes culture.
Ward: I don’t know lads discharging someone at 17:01 on a Friday sounds a bit risky let’s just keep them over the weekend to be safe
ED: if we put pillows in the urinals we could bed at least four more people in this toilet

1/4. I can’t be only #Health are worker thinking it’s an absolute scandal that healthcare assistants (HCAs), often the backbone of ward-based practice, are typically banded on AfC band 2… what’s that per hour? Something like less than £11 p/h?

On #FairPayforNursing and #RCNStrike as @susannareid100 sums it up - “it’s unsafe”.
… what price is the government willing to put on the safety of patients? As if #Nurses aren’t paid fairly,
recruitment and retention won’t improve - it will remain unsafe.
It’s about #Safety!
Hearing reports of @CQCProf turning up to inspect clinical areas last week and with inspectors and managers more interested in small amounts of clutter on wards than the dangerous understaffing.
Without #Nurses, patient safety is at risk.
