I sue insurance companies. Former lawyer for 21 #GTMO detainees (20 released, 1 died in GTMO). Ex-GOP but not officially a Dem (yet). Husband, Father, Spartan.
I changed law firms a year ago, so technically I haven’t represented Guantánamo detainees since last January. But I will always consider those men to be my clients. In that spirit, I am enormously happy to see that my last two clients were transferred to Oman today. 1/x
Each one of these people congratulating Donald Trump on stealing Venezuelan oil is a colossal piece of shit. Pardon my language, but it is so disgusting and these people are so unbelievably dumb, historically illiterate, and fundamentally evil.
I agree w/ this. The days of American global respect and leadership is over...at least for my lifetime. The world community won't bounce back and embrace America openly again. They will proceed with extreme caution, as they should.
Just cannot be said enough that Biden (w/an assist from the Fed) pulled off the best economic recovery from COVID in the world and just as we were reaching an inflection point where things were really going to soar, we kicked ourselves squarely in the crotch & handed Trump the WH
Which is why the damage is irreparable. There’s no coming back from this. The global community no longer wants to deal with the whims of 7 swing states every 4 years. Much less with the way he’s doing whatever he wants and no one is stopping him
You people still don't get it. Even with a 'normal' leader you will never be more than four years from another coin toss of going back to this and the rest of the world now has to plan around that
I think the general consensus of people around the world is that Americans can get fooled by a con man once, but to return him to power a 2nd time after having seen his corruption, incompetence, ignorance, & buffoonery, the problem isn’t just Trump it’s the American people.
Trump is losing to Iran. He's failing to curb inflation. He's failing to bring back factory jobs. He isn't boosting economic growth. He's empowering Russia and China.
But he can scribble the words "Lake America" with a big crayon on a map.
Is that MAGA's consolation prize?
I am sorry. You (the Americans) voted for him twice. He is still there. You need to step up quite a bit if you want the rest of the world to regain any faith in the US again. Whether or not Trump is the president.
Don't worry Peter, Republicans will suddenly become very concerned about the debt the moment they lose power and you and your colleagues at THE PAPER OF RECORD will turn it into a thing to choke out any Democratic priorities. We've seen this movie, several times.
He loves executive orders, bc they feel like monarchic writ: ‘so let it be written, so let it be done’
He doesn’t consult Congress. He just does it
Curbing this practice - and giving EOs greater legal clarity - is yet another of the reforms Trump’s presidency makes clear we need
As Americans continue to suffer from the consequences of a war in Iran that Trump started illegally and apparently cannot end, he distracts from his failures with performative nonsense. Why do Republicans in Congress keep indulging the charade? It's pathetic.
You really should run for the U.S. Senate so you’d be able to stop the confirmation of lethally insane unqualified quacks to positions where they can intentionally attack science-based medicine and public health systems.

People actually don't like being reminded that the president can just snap his fingers and make crazy things happen, because they know on a certain level that the president is crazy and like to imagine that there are processes in place to filter that out
The American people are desperately imploring Trump to do something to help the economy, and he’s just taking out his sharpie and pretending to change the name of lakes.
The United States has no president.
It's not just the stupidity of this that's so notable, but far more notable is how stupid Trump and his WH think bhis followers are, believing that they will be satisfied and satiated with infantile slop like this in lieu of any of the things they promised to do for their lives:
