"Your words matter. What you do matters." Lee Perez. Nebraska Teacher of the Year. What a fantastic speaker and a great motivation to finish this year strong! #NSEA#NSEADA2022@LanguagePerez
Longhorn Red in my heart, Bulldog Blue on my shirt. My oldest is a freshman and played ball at my old stomping grounds. So many memories playing in the same gym where I spent so much time. We got the W, but I left a piece of my heart on that old wooden floor tonight. ๐๐โค
Love this idea: At the beginning of every staff meeting ask a question and give the room 1 minute to answer. Ex. Favorite movies, hobbies. Quick team builder. --Gerry Brooks
A good message for districts to send out to their admin and staff is โself/family firstโ and then encourage them to actually do it. Teachers are already end of the year burned out in October.
I think teacher evaluations right now should focus on the following questions:
How are you doing?
Are you taking care of yourself?
How is your family?
How can I best support you right now?

Hear those words....
