@bbcshowstours You are a safe sender. I received an email from you today about an unsuccessful application for tickets on 29 Jan.

[David Powers @foundationphp]

@bbcshowstours I received a text saying I had been allocated tickets for the News Quiz on 15/01. Tickets still not arrived (checked spam, etc). David Powers ([email protected])

#seikotokyo2024 #PR All ready to smash the Tokyo marathon!

[David Powers @foundationphp]

@peteaylward @Apress Thanks,Pete. It’s 13 years actually since the first edition that @chrisdavidmills inspired/browbeat me into writing back in the days of the much lamented friends of ED.

[David Powers @foundationphp]

New arrival! #PHP ⁦@Apress⁩

[David Powers @foundationphp]

The course was written with PHP 7 in mind. It will be updated, but no immediate plans.

[David Powers @foundationphp]

@Techyjc Glad you found the cause of the problem. The BOM can cause lots of problems to PHP. It’s difficult to diagnose because it’s invisible.

[David Powers @foundationphp]

@salman_dv @SamDavePollard #PHP is used in 4 out of every 5 sites that use a server-side language (https://t.co/9NxEeDn9GG). I think it has a very strong future.

[David Powers @foundationphp]

Thanks @SamDavePollard. Feedback like that makes all the effort that goes into building courses worthwhile.

[David Powers @foundationphp]

@Techyjc Make sure there's no space after Firstname in the CSV file. Although invisible, it would make a difference when comparing values.

[David Powers @foundationphp]

Without seeing the arrays, it's impossible to say what's happening. Have you tried using array_diff_assoc() and/or array_diff_key() to examine what's different between the arrays?

[David Powers @foundationphp]

@Techyjc Since you have access to @lynda @LI_learning courses, take a look at Export associative arrays from a CSV in my PHP Tips, Tricks, and Techniques. https://t.co/lCDIcwpnWV

@reshmasikki @khan_sikki @dreamweaver @lynda @LI_learning PHP: Accessing Databases with PDO and MySQLi @lynda @LI_learning

[David Powers @foundationphp]

The mysql module was removed from PHP 7. You either need to downgrade to PHP 5 (bad idea) or switch to using MySQLi functions. Alternatively use PDO.

[Sikandar Khan @khan_sikki]

@foundationphp how to over come this sir "your php server doesn't have the mysql module loaded or you can't use the mysql_(p)connect functions"

[David Powers @foundationphp]

@rehmasikki @khan_sikki @dreamweaver There are tons of MySQLi tutorials on the web. I’ve also created a course for @lynda and @LI_learning.

[David Powers @foundationphp]

@khan_sikki @dreamweaver AFAIK @Adobe has no plans for a @dreamweaver server behavior for MySQLi. You can buy MySQLi extension from @dmxzone. Alternatively, learn how to write the code yourself. It’s not difficult.

[php.net @official_php]

#PHP 7.1 is now in security fix only mode. 7.1 security support runs until Dec 1st 2019.

All prior versions of PHP are no longer supported by the PHP project. Plan your upgrades to PHP 7.3!

Got questions about my #PHP Tips, Tricks & Techniques or Learning PHP courses on @LI_Learning? There’s a new Q&A tab that I’ll be keeping a regular eye 👁 on.

[David Powers @foundationphp]

Wow. Comments like that make all the pain and suffering of creating a course worthwhile. 😊 @LI_Learning

[Sprout Means Grow @sproutmeansgrow]

@foundationphp I can't over state how much I'm loving your PDO and MySQLi course! Oh, the hours and days of pain and suffering I could have spared myself if I'd watched it when I added it to my playlist over a year ago!
