@Kim02373227@imgrund@UCDSB They don’t mind - that’s the point. They are completely used to masks, and to learning what they can from faces half covered. But that doesn’t mean they’re not missing out on a stage of social learning
@Virtual_Skwerl@imgrund@UCDSB There’s a lot more to learning to communicate than just that which happens at home before they start school. Children learn a lot from other children
@imgrund@UCDSB Kindergarten provides half of kids’ daily awake time and is principally about learning to socialize. Even as an adult I find it difficult to read people’s intended expression with masks on
@imgrund@mustafahirji Hold on with all your shaming - at some point we have to move to seeing COVID as endemic not a pandemic- maybe we’re just moving in that direction? Things have to ease
@etfopresident@ETFOeducators What plan should there be. Retrofit ventilation in every school in 8 weeks? Why don’t you take a look what other provinces are doing for their students. Giving them a more normal year with no masks and a return to activities and sports.
The TDSB will no longer be moving forward with the quadmester model and will be implementing a modified semester model in secondary schools for the 2021-22 school year to better meet the needs of all students.

@AshleyInHeaven1@krushowy@robertbenzie Or even just going back to school for the final 3 weeks? Rather than prioritising shopping over kids’ education and well-being
