Yeah exactly, that’s the bet.

I don’t really think most people want another monthly subscription just for wallpapers. It feels weird to ask users to keep paying every month for something that should make their Mac look better and feel nicer.

So for now I want to keep MacWall simple:

pay once, use it forever.

$7.99 lifetime feels more honest for this kind of app. If I ever add something subscription-based later, it would need to be for something genuinely extra, not locking basic wallpapers behind a monthly bill.

Thanks Cairo, really appreciate the sharp take. Totally agree on the Sonoma+ Lock Screen motion being the wedge. I’m going to surface that much harder above the fold.

And small correction: lifetime is $7.99, not $9.99. Keeping it intentionally low-friction for now while I learn how it converts.

Hey everyone,

I’ve been building MacWall over the last few months and wanted to share what I’m working on.

The idea is simple:

Mac desktops deserve better than static wallpapers.

Most wallpaper apps on macOS feel heavy, outdated, or not really built for the Mac experience. I wanted MacWall to feel clean, lightweight, and native while giving users beautiful cinematic live wallpapers.
