There is no other generation that has its identity firmly rooted in money as are the millennials. Its men are convinced that money is a substitute for being actual human beings. Its women are convinced that money absolves men of their sins. Both pay severely for it.

It is 5 p.m. I walk into a club in Thika to grab one or two beers before MKU students turn it into an unruly place. Almost immediately, a man in his forties or fifties, thereabouts, walks in after me and takes the next table. The music is low and slow.
To folks whose adulthoods don't reflect their brilliance, scholarly credentials, or talent; it may be a little late a lesson, but life owes no success for your accumulations, but rather what you do in the arena. There is no pension scheme for unrealized potential. Sad, but true.
My most unorthodox solution to state corruption is to make childlessness mandatory for presidential candidates. Every president that's ever stolen from this continent, stole in the name of their children. You want to lead the nation, we'll be your children—your ultimate legacy.
Back in 2013—after a 5-year hiatus—I returned to the country I was raised in, believing that the girl who brought me cookies everyday in school, had shed all flesh from missing me. She'd see me, drop everything, & sprint into my arms, bawling her lungs out. Called in on her & she didn't even remember my first name.
Someone, somewhere, will say yes. That is what matters. Someday, it will be a yes. And if it never comes, so be it. I'd sooner live with the illusion of hope than the dark, moonless reality of surrender.
Morality has its place in society. Yet utility precedes, transcends, and supercedes morality.
Back in high school, my Kiswahili teacher told us a story of a community where it was a taboo for women & girls to eat eggs, liver etc... It was immoral.
Some months ago, Alpha was loaded into a container in Mombasa port (F1).
Months later, Alpha lands in a new country (and continent), ready for the first fueling(F2), the trails (F3) and friends (F4)
This is how the plans went.... #Thread#AlphaLandrover#BreakingBorders

Beautiful, sunny morning. You know what, folks: it'll be alright. Not all of it. But something will give. Eventually. And if none does, you will build the resilience for it. And, maybe, if you are lucky, learn to see and soak in the silver linings. Today will be a beautiful day.
It’s absurd that with all our intellect, memory, brilliance, and our capacity to solve problems, compose symphonies or crack impossible codes, a well-thrown rock can end it all. Imagine Magnus Carlsen dying from a catapult shot. The human body is hilariously vulnerable.
Conceptually, life is the easiest thing: go to school, get a job; find love; maybe get a pet - a car; build a house; look after your parents. It is all so seamless in anticipation until you get to adulthood and find that even that which should be so simple, is still so complex.
For a while now I have noticed a pattern in my algorithm. Theres so much non African intellectual content being pushed on my Timelines, not just X. The only intellectual conversations reaching me are american, which are of no use to me. The only african content reaching me is basic nonsense that is very less impactful to my brain. Just rage baits,Who pays for dates, sex positions, broken marriages, Etc nothing important at all
For a minute I thought theres nothing important being discussed in this continent but then I am just learning that the intellectual African conversations are being suppressed, massively. And the useless ones about sex positions are being pushed, worldwide. American tweets about politics and economics are all over african Timelines but african tweets about the same are barely making it to the American timelines, except the nonsense ones.
Theres a massive Algorithmic manipulation going on. And slowly African creators are being pushed to lean on making nonsensical content because that is what is gaining numbers. They lied to us that our algorithm only recommends what we like, theres a deeper game going on. Our intellect as a continent is in great danger of being contained,to only conteplate about nonsense because that is what our algorithm has suggested we love indulging in.
At some point,For our sanity,we will either have leave social media for good,or quit these white owned platforms and develop ours! READ this post again. Its not Africans only discussing nonsense, its the algorithm recommending nonsense to us collectively.
