@hybridherbst reminds me a bit of adding 3d to a website. conceptually adding a canvas element wherever 3d is desired is just like adding any other div where 2d ui is wanted. though the developer convenience of interacting the two has lagged. things like r3f have helped open a door
@LilyIsWasHere Not sure whether to write this comment about the doorway effect or adhd or just say "yeah, when I used to work I'd get a nudge a while later asking about the status of that one thing I said would be done in a minute, and here we are a week later. i'll have it done in a moment"
@natkohasic anyway reminds me of this 2006 yt page. One point is to watch videos, and to funnel the information to select one efficiently, while maximizing ad revenue. In 2006, internet was slow in many places, and maybe text was more efficient to send than thumbnails
@natkohasic I’ve been making a visual site for fun the past few months and one thing I’m practicing(?) is to keep the focus on the emotion/content and to not let 3d stuff, animations, or technical nonsense be there without purpose. Turns out I’m not very good.. taking forever
@natkohasic@figma Besides technology beyond centering a div is heretic to the integrity of modern civilization. A vision forward from htmlcssjavascript to webassembly within figma may be the means to regress to a humble life of pure design bliss, free from the limits of software complexity
6 months have gone by without realizing that heroku’s eco subscription doesn’t go away when upgrading, and combined with an inconvenient to view bill, I never noticed I’m short $30. I will remember this dark pattern and the company who taught me it.
@clairezagorski Also don’t be me and say okay to the seemingly homeless person asking for a ride at midnight.. otherwise they might start spitting beats to the car music for an hour, attempt to shoplift, ask for where im staying, attempt to give me an ipad, and ask if we could hang out more…
@OnDisasters I am curious though if there’s more to it. The report mentions an issue “engine deficiency at low altitude” seen in other aircraft, and curious if that could still apply here despite what’s written
@OnDisasters https://t.co/kZOEKLpEQK This seems to be airbus’s report to count pilots claim of power not responding earlier than 4 seconds to crash. The log shows thrust lever didnt move until 4 seconds prior to the crash, and during these 4 seconds, power increased at the appropriate rate.
Watching Invasion against a backdrop of firework noises around the city is really not helping the idea that earth is being overrun by aliens as I type this. Soon my legs will be ripped away from my body to fester the next alien generation. Maybe I should just brush my teeth
Today I picked up trash. There was a combo of frustration seeing yet another cigarette stub next to laser focus for target acquired, must grab, pinchy pinch, alert! *plastic bag ruffles in the wind as someone across the street says thanks* Smile and wave boys, smile and wave…
@lanxia32 Used to read reddit/reuters a ton. Though I somehow I still catch wind about something absurd, like affirmative action going backwards. The silence from burying my head in sand is otherwise quite nice
