When AOC declared woke over and dismissively laughed that "Woke 1 was crazzzy", she was sending a calculated signal to the Leftist rank & file that "Woke" was now more of a political liability than a help and it was time to pivot from "its not happening" to "ok it was happening but it wasnt that bad, can we just move on now?"

The online hordes clearly understood the assignment, as the online space is full of ppl either dismissing Woke as "just some online kooks " and pretending not to understand what Woke even was (thus making discourse impossible).

They will adopt a "gotcha" strategy where they will demand to know on the spot exactly what was so bad about Woke and when you dont have an itemized list in bullet points at the ready, will dismiss your entire argument that Woke was bad.

So here I'm creating a thread so you can all bookmark it and use it anytime says "Woke wasnt that big a deal", "it was just online kooks", or "it was just about having empathy and being kind".

You will notice not one of the examples in this thread are "online kooks". Almost every single one is a major media company. Despite the catastrophic reputational loss of the last two decades, these companies are still very powerful and influential, and since most of the public still mindlessly outsources their thinking to the media, they play a key role in shaping public opinion. Keep that in mind as you read some to the deranged things these psychopaths were pushing on us.

If in the future, someone wants to study how, when and why the mainstream media pivoted from Neutral Arbiter of Truth to Culture Warrior, Narrative Shaper and Social Engineer, this thread would be a valuable resource.

People lived in Donbas, built businesses and raised families, until russian nazis arrived with Girkin and his thugs, declaring those people couldn't live there anymore. People evacuated, leaving their homes to Girkin's mob for pennies or nothing at all. They moved to Kharkiv, kept paying mortgages on Donetsk apartments that russians stole or destroyed, because credit history mattered, and rebuilt from scratch. They bought new homes, started new businesses. But bloodthirsty russian bastards found them here too, ruining their lives a second time. Bombing them for years, killing, burning. That is what’s unfair.

​When peaceful families have to hide from Russian bombs inside a theater, that feels unfair. When, hoping for a shred of humanity in their attackers, they paint "CHILDREN" in massive letters outside, and russians bomb it anyway, slaughtering everyone inside, isn't that unfair? When survivors crawl out of the rubble, stepping over neighbors' bodies and the ashes of their homes, only to be dragged into filtration camps, stripped naked, robbed of every even remotely valuable thing, and also basic human dignity just for the "privilege" of fleeing the ruins of their own city, is that not unfair?

​It is overwhelmingly, fucking unfair when a young woman can't hear a drone over her own exhaustion from never ending russian attacks. Now she lies trapped in her bed, pinned by a collapsed ceiling. She’s alive, but can not move because of the rubble. She smells smoke from the spreading fire, hears her neighbors screaming as they burn alive, and all she can think is that dying under the ceiling would have been a mercy compared to burning alive.

​It’s unfair when an elderly woman and her goats are murdered by a first person view drone for the sick entertainment of a some russian operator. It's unfair when a 2-year-old child is hunted and butchered on his grandparents' porch for the crime of being a Ukrainian child in Ukraine, and only for that.

Which is what the men around Trump have forgotten. Everyone knows the performance is fake. The audience knows, the voters know, and most painfully of all, the man doing the flattering knows. Nobody remembers the courtier. History remembers the people who said no.
