Year 3 class at @Foxfield. Come and follow our journey through the year by celebrating our fantastic learning along the way. Taught by @MrGoldFoxfield.
We were visited by @CentreoftheCell who showed us how food passes through the digestive system using items that we can find round the home. Did you know that the intestines is approx the length of a bus? @foxfield@ScienceFoxfield@IPAT_Edu
This morning, years 3 & 4 performed our winter concert to parents & carers. We shared how Christmas is celebrated around the world along with the story of Christmas. We also sung our hearts out with Christmas classics & even a French Xmas song! @FoxfieldYear4@foxfield@IPAT_Edu
In maths we applied our subtraction learning by making and subtracting our own 2 digit numbers from 3 digit numbers using dice. @foxfield@FoxfieldMaths@FoxfldOak3
We thoroughly enjoyed our football session today with Robin & Franky from @wellingunited where we learnt how to accurately pass and dribble effectively. @foxfield@PeFoxfield
We are looking forward to sharing our DT #FoodFortnight after school today. Be sure to visit our stool to try out our vegan Polish pierogies! 🇵🇱 @foxfield@IPAT_Edu
We welcomed our 60-strong Pupil Leadership Team today and introduced them to the expectations of being a JLT member & the outline of the year. We discussed positive relationships across the school and what these look like & the children already had great feedback! @foxfield
This morning we took part in a live workshop by @wwf_uk which focused on the effects of climate change. This is linked to our English learning based on our core text ‘Greta’s Story’. @foxfield@IPAT_Edu
Here is yesterday’s #barvember activity. We have been using the bar model method as well as column methods to answer these multi-step problems. Can you work out the answers? @foxfield@FoxfieldMaths@WhiteRoseEd
In English we identified the features of autobiographies and biographies. We then used a same/different depth prompt to highlight and explain the similarities & differences between the two sets of features. @foxfield@FoxfieldEnglish@FoxfldOak3
Here are some of our year 3 JLT members with their acceptance letters! We look forward to our first school JLT meeting next Monday! @FoxfieldPupil@foxfield
In today’s DT lesson, we researched ingredients of food from around the world. This will help us understand what is included in our favourite dishes! @foxfield
We started our new English unit of autobiographies by looking at how people change over time. We had a selection of baby pictures to see which adults from Foxfield they were. Can you guess by some of the pictures? @foxfield@FoxfieldEnglish
We are proud to share our learning for this half term linked to our core text of ‘The Hunter’ by #PaulGeraghty. Our writing was a non-chronological report on elephants & the danger of poaching and our art was ink printing using natural dyes. @foxfield@IPAT_Edu@carpenter_rob
In history we learnt about the importance of monuments highlighting a significant event from the past. We linked our knowledge to Stonehenge and it’s historic importance of the Stone Age. We then created our own Stone Age inspired monuments. @foxfield@FFHumanities@FoxfldOak3
A great example of how weekly spelling practises through games and recall & retention activities improve the children's test results. The use of colour coordination allows the child to compete against themselves rather than others & celebrate progress. @foxfield@FoxfieldEnglish
In History we looked at various artefacts from the Stone Age. We wrote down what we thought they were, what they’re made from & their purpose. We then compared these artefacts to today’s equivalent & how they have adapted over time. @foxfield@IPAT_Edu@FFHumanities@FoxfldOak3
We are beginning the publishing stage of our learning journey. Our writing outcome is a piece of non-fiction detailing the elephant and the fight against poaching. We will then record what we’ve written as a BBC documentary. @foxfield@FoxfieldEnglish@IPAT_Edu@FoxfldOak3
