@benkarlin1 As a principal, I take the class so they can talk to/go to the doctor if it can’t be done in non-contact time. I regularly do this for teachers needing blood tests.
The horrifying reality of being a woman, perfectly summarised by @_CaitlinORyan
If you give even the slightest shit about women, watch it all. This is what it’s like.
@Mr_Rablin I loved that I had trained the person that was hired to give the presentation that I had created, and she was genuinely confused why she had been brought in.
@AllisonETEC And those who choose Steiner education but in grade 3 put them in school to learn to read and write, then move them back when you have taught them!
@Emma_Turner75 Also, often they will have the same teacher for 4 years - only 2 teachers across 8 years. The breadth of teaching experiences required so that students are not repeating topics in the same way is also never considered. It’s huge!
@ded6ajd I remember taking my French exams, the written test - the traditional exam was the easiest part. Preparing a presentation also not a problem, course work was easy but the work I had to do to have a discussion about current affairs is the one thing that made me speak the language.
@MrB_online@Headteacherchat I’m often surprised how low teacher pay is in the UK compared to Aus, particularly the leadership pay rates. The top of your leadership table is comparable to the bottom of ours in WA.
@chutneylife Wow, you obviously live somewhere with choices. One shop here, no sale prices, 4 hour round trip to the nearest alternative. We grow lots, buy in bulk but still see that prices have gone through the roof. Inflation is greater than wage increases so the pinch is real.
@rottengirl Two fractured fibulae and a smashed knee - take a couple of Panadol they said - but I heard the damage, got mri and a total knee replacement!
“If you put red ants & black ants in a glass jar, nothing happens. But if the jar is shaken, the two sets of ants will fight each other. But the real enemy is the person who shook the jar. The same is true in society. Before we fight each other, we must ask: Who shook the jar?”
