@KenCape0327@lukesoutpost oh I remember this. I'm not sure how many were built for the movie, but it wouldn't surprise me if this one was used in the further background. The yellow paint lacks the gloss finish of the one at the Lucas museum, and I remember the chrome parts looking more like metallic foil.
@ABAOProductions you think jorge was swayed to leave the project over death threats from random accounts and not the very reasonable and valid criticism from fellow artists and industry professionals?
@ScottForbes It’s my personal mission as a bg designer / lead to hand over extremely logically organized files that follow a very consistent and predictable structure without going absolutely overboard on layer groups for every little thing. FG, MG, BG, relevant overlays, no unnamed layers.
me watching a big name in the industry nuke their credibility from orbit
-- all the inane discourse about indie animation and here comes jorge reminding what the REAL problems are
@Breadwasnthere The actual production time of an episode like this is like 8-12 months after being approved and gets a round of funding with a full team of artists. A pilot usually includes developing a few more episodes to come next. After it releases, the hope is to be approved for many more.
Gameoverse is extremely lucky to have Cameron on board, look at this stuff (more in the thread), ahg damn, absolutely bringing the look of the show to the next level
Some of my concepts and explorations of the heroes' ship, the Nimble! This one took a lot of work, and I wanted to include a lot of fun references in the interior, can you spot them all?
(Also, all of the chairs were designed with clearance/holes for tails in mind)

@Thdark101 in service to a better game, it would have been interesting maybe if the gamepad was your arwing's control panel -- thinking about X-Wing/Tie-Fighter game mechanics where you can do some on-the-fly power management between weapons, engine, or shield performance etc. I dunno.
@Thdark101 this is one of those times where Nintendo's usual methods of changing what isn't working didn't trigger lol. They were trying so hard to find a cool use for the gamepad screen that wasn't just extra info or a map, they convinced themselves what they shipped was new, good, and fun
@SmallBuStudio@glitch_prod there were some particular moments where I felt like the animation style was oddly familiar (and so good)
and now I know why hahah great work on the pilot guys
@Thdark101 that was so good man, everyone did such a good job on this but (knowing your art well) your particular touch was visible all over this thing
@Thdark101 Feels like something that could have gone REALLY bad really easily (first take sonic movie bad lol) but even seeing these designs in motion I’m like “damn it looks good I have to say”
@Thdark101 The longer I’ve been seeing / living with the new art direction the more I’ve been really liking it. Nintendo remaking Starfox 64 again is expected, but the chosen art direction is absolutely NOT which alone brings a lot of new interest for me.
@Thdark101 I cant use a traditional intuos for drawing (lack of skill) but I prefer using one for photo retouching because editing photos on a cintiq just feels weirdly unnatural/incorrect
@SenzuVT Oh all the stands are heavy lol they still are. They had to so they don’t flip over forward off your desk when you lower them into drafting table mode lol but the 24HD one must be insane cuz that tablet alone must weigh like 30 lbs hahahh
