this is a new chapter for the Sui Stack! LFG 🚀

[evan.sui @EvanWeb3]

1/ Sharing the first update in a new quarterly series from @Mysten_Labs – take a look https://t.co/kQRfrW9O4H. In it, I lay out my thoughts on:

What problems need to be solved in order for agents to be trusted by humans and to trust each other.
Why I’m convinced Sui and Walrus will be fundamental in solving those problems, and why Mysten Labs is the team to tackle them.

2/ We’re also setting up a new, dedicated AI business unit within Mysten Labs, which I will personally lead, in addition to my responsibilities as CTO. At Sui Basecamp, I gave a glimpse of what we’re working on: https://t.co/VRkjg9PVFm

3/ To ensure that the team has full time and bandwidth to dedicate to our agentic strategy as well as supporting the Sui and Walrus ecosystem, I have asked @KevinBoon_ML to step into the CEO role. Kevin has been instrumental in leading Mysten Labs alongside the co-founders from Day 1, first as our Chief Legal Officer and then as our President. I planned for this day when I made him President, and have the utmost faith in him as my successor and our new CEO.

Now, back to work.

I'll be on MTS in 20 minutes or so to chat about RSI and its potential consequences.

Brutal truth from @Lethain

“If you're in [middle] management (…) you sort of have to decide, am I retiring now or am I re-skilling?”

He did just this: step down from leading a large team (250 ppl) to be hands-on with a small team (25 ppl), ship code & re-learn the new “rules”

Agents will run consequential workflows. That's not a question anymore

What we still have to figure out is how everyone involved can trust what an agent did

A company's own logs won't get us there. The evidence has to live where no single party controls it, so every side can verify it on their own

VAA is the first step in that direction

[Chris Revault @Chrisrevault]

AI agents need more than logs: they need evidence of what they did and whether they stayed within their authority. VAA, developed by @Mysten_Labs with Google Cloud, keeps records private while making cryptographic proofs verifiable on @WalrusProtocol and coordinated on @SuiNetwork

[Tibo @thsottiaux]

The difference between having a tool and being a tool is subtle these days and it’s easy to accidentally build yourself into being a tool. Don’t be a tool.

Every methodology eventually collapses into this one. The rest are just what we call it in the retro.

Amazon CEO Andy Jassy's advice for young people: AI will help you "invent in ways that just weren't possible" before, and critical thinking and human judgment will remain your edge.

"You can't run away from it, and you can't wish it away. It's gonna be incredibly impactful in your life, in every experience that you try and use in your work... You need to learn about it. You need to educate yourself about it. You need to use it a lot. You need to try it."

"I don't think it replaces critical reasoning and thinking."

"If I think about business school as an example, you would get these three cases that you had to analyze every day, and you had to do a lot of reading, and you had to take notes, and you had to figure out what the key issues were... All that kind of goes away with AI."

"AI is gonna be able to kind of get everybody to that advanced starting spot much more quickly."

"The actual putting the dots and the pieces together, either to build a strategy or an approach or a plan or a new product or a new customer experience, I don't think AI is gonna do that for most people most of the time."

"I still think you're gonna need human judgment and ingenuity and invention and experimentation and thinking about how all the pieces come together to end up building amazing experiences and businesses."

@lydiahallie wait is it just me or is Opus 5.5 dumber

most will never get it but the @Mysten_Labs team is the only one doing some serious military calisthenics in this space!

💥Kimi is SO BACK!! and -

3.1 is a strong reminder that the interesting scaling story in 2026 is no longer just pre-training FLOPs. This is the same 2.8T / 104B-active MoE as K3 (896 routed experts, 16 active + 2 shared, 69 KDA + 24 Gated MLA layers, AttnRes, Stable LatentMoE, native MXFP4), but the gains come from substantially larger post-training compute and large-scale joint RL across hundreds of domains.

The result is a model that can write/iteratively debug its own Blender/CAD scripts, assemble full game projects in Unreal/Unity/Godot, and produce linked financial models with meaningfully lower hallucination rates. On Terminal-Bench 4.0 it sits at 65.7% (between GPT-6 Astra & Opus 5.5), & it leads several long-horizon agent + coding metrics. 🚀

The open-weight date (Nov 4) is welcome, but the practical constraint is still the same: even with extreme sparsity + MXFP4, this is a supernode-class model. The real test will be how well the post-training stack transfers when the community starts fine-tuning and running it under its own constraints. All amazing stuff 🚀

[Sui @SuiNetwork]

VAA also links with Sui Agent Payments, so when an agent spends money, the authorization and spend decision are on the record too.

Initial enterprise deployments are planned ahead of broader availability.
