Just upgraded my node from Bitcoin Core to Bitcoin Knots. Running (v27.1.knots20240801 via Docker). 😙
You can't stop all spam on the blockchain.
But you can choose not to relay BS.

🚨 Bitcoin Community, especially NODE RUNNERS: Speak up NOW! 🚨
Peter Todd’s rushed PR on Bitcoin GitHub aims to remove optional node config settings (-datacarrier, -datacarriersize) by scrapping OP_RETURN limits.
This isn’t a fix 👉 Bitcoin isn’t broken! 😡
Core devs are pushing changes NO ONE asked for, ignoring the broader community.
They are patting each other’s backs in their moderated echo chamber, sidestepping consensus. 🫵
Node runners, your voice matters! Reject this PR. Bitcoin thrives on decentralization, not dev whims. 🛑
Opt out. Use software which offers users the most user-defined optionality available (e.g. @BitcoinKnots )
#NACKthePR
This is the company, and these are the shitcoiners, behind the compromised devs behind the proposal to do away with spam filters in Bitcoin Core.
Wake. The fuck. Up. You fucking. Lemmings.
This is still being jammed through by Bitcoin Core.
Locking out the users and community from participating in the discussion of this PR and calling their participation "spam" while simultaneously endorsing unlimited spam on Bitcoin is incredibly ironic.
Ditch Core. Run Knots.
Bitcoin Core is not a democracy governed by votes. It’s supposed to be based on rough consensus. Anyone can see that there is no consensus on relaxing OP_RETURN limits. Pushing ahead on this change is going down a slippery slope.
MY FELLOW BITCOINERS : -
ARE YOU STILL NOT REALIZING THAT BITCOIN IS CURRENTLY UNDER SERIOUS ATTACK BY CORE DEVS?
IT WILL CONTINUE TO STAY UNDER ATTACK UNTIL THE PERCENTAGE OF CORE AND KNOTS NODERUNNERS DON'T FLIP.
IT ALMOST FEELS LIKE WE ARE GOING TOWARDS NEXT CIVIL WAR PLEBS.
WE CAN'T AFFORD TO LOSE THIS WAR. BITCOIN IS THE LAST HOPE TO SAVE HUMANITY.
SWITCH TO @BitcoinKnots
LONG LIVE BITCOIN 😎😎😎
What ultimately killed Ethereum was feature creep and mission drift. Every change was pitched as minor and “technically neutral” until the protocol became a bloated playground to enrich insiders.
Bitcoin Core OP_RETURN expansion is the same poison in a different bottle.
I get the rationale for a Bitcoin reserve. I don't agree with it, but I get it. We have a gold reserve. Bitcoin is digital gold, which is better than analog gold. So let's create a Bitcoin reserve too. But what's the rationale for an XRP reserve? Why the hell would we need that?
