@andersleehere Presumably she is alluding to members or base of WFP’s constituent orgs, not actual party members. Whether that means that’s really the base for WFP I don’t know
NY “charities” are funding Israeli settler organizations that ethnically cleanse Palestinians from their homes. Our state is complicit.
But the tide is turning. Last month, 26 supporters of the Not On Our Dime! Act won their primaries. We have an obligation to pass this bill.
This year ecosocialists showed up in full force for our NYC-DSA slate—and the city responded overwhelmingly.
To everyone who canvassed, phone banked, tabled and organized with us, these wins are yours. A better world is possible, because of you.
Central Hudson raised our gas and electric rates again on 7/1, but grid resiliency has gotten worse! Many of my constituents lost power for 3 days. We need the Hudson Valley Power Authority, a public utility that will invest in trimming trees, burying lines, and lowering bills.
The rapid adoption of AI and data centers is creating life-threatening conditions. As extreme weather increases, this will only become more true.
We MUST prioritize people over machines. The Gov should sign the data center omnibus bill to put common sense protections in place.
Excited to share we've awarded $300k in operating funds to non-profits and municipal entities working on:
🏡 tenant protections (HV Justice Center)
🤝 mutual aid for our immigrant neighbors (Ulster Immigration Defense Network)
🎱 reintegration for veterans (Saugerties)
(contd.)
We’re making the most important decision in the history of DSA - who to run for President. We have a chance to win unions for all, build renewable energy, and prosecute MAGA.
GW NPC member Frances talks about why the NPC should pass the proposed endorsement process unamended.
It was wonderful to host a lunch with some current and future colleagues at Astoria’s King of Falafel! We got to meet with the owner and congratulate him on officially joining @nycDSA 🌹
Thanks so much for your support, Freddy, and welcome to the club! 😎
First heatwaves, now flooding. The climate crisis is here, and it’s not going away unless we organize.
We have the resources build a thriving future for all of us. But billionaires are hoarding them.
Climate change is class war. This Friday, come learn how we’re fighting back.
On the USA's 250th birthday, Groundwork co-chair Joe W. argues that our history offers both a legacy of shame and a hope of liberation. In order to fight for a better world, the left must develop a conception of the United States that is built out of both.
Liberty and justice for ALL, no exceptions.
For two and a half centuries, enslaved and working people fought to build a future with dignity and freedom for everyone. That fight isn’t over.
As we celebrate this Fourth of July in the extreme heat, we must reflect on the progress we have made and the work we have left to do.
The great American experiment cannot continue if we sell our country out to climate deniers, fossil fuel executives, and for-profit utilities.
Solidarity with IBEW workers striking at PECO, an investor-owned utility in Philadelphia owned by Exelon, the country's largest electric parent company by revenue. https://t.co/IEYg29NkbN
Progressives and Democrats may have stopped talking about climate change but socialists never did. NYC-DSA legislators have been winning more funding every year for publicly owned, union built renewable energy. The biggest obstacle is Kathy Hochul, a Democrat.
Makes sense that the centrist Democrats saying "don't talk about climate" were the same ones saying "don't talk about Gaza." You cannot be credible on ANY issue if you blithely accept mass death!
huh historic heatwaves are dismissed here as “it’s hot in July.”
no wonder he’s telling Democrats to climate hush — on a basic level he doesn’t seem recognize the phenomenon
ConEd’s CEO made $20 million last year - a $5 million raise.
More than 12% of your monthly payment goes straight to ConEd’s shareholders.
But if ConEd shuts off your power in a heatwave, they won’t even discount your bill.
