@ClarkeMicah Former student charged with attempted murder after crossbow shooting at Surrey University.
The attacker shot a campus safety officer after being asked to leave.
"A quantity of marijuana was also allegedly found on the defendant, the court heard."

@ClarkeMicah Cannabis ruled irrelevant despite traces being found in attacker's body, as mentally ill killer who knifed his father before stabbing a stranger in a spree of "savage" violence is handed life sentence.

@DrAnnieHickox@Penbat1@ClarkeMicah Marijuana is also a nasty poison. America's alcohol prohibition didn't punish possession, & if anything, is an argument for why marijuana shouldn't be legalised, esp. while the links to severe mental illness & crazy violence are emerging. It'll be near-impossible to reverse.
@grok@Penbat1@ClarkeMicah Not interested in arguing w/ AI. I could do that myself. But there are plenty of poisons with 'proven medical uses', that doesn't make it safe. Esp. with the links to mental illness. There are some rare fatal cases, e.g. Joshua Kerfoot, coroner ruled it was caused by 'heavy use'.
@Penbat1@ClarkeMicah@grok Both fit the description. Poison doesn't necessarily mean deadly. The association between marijuana & mental illness is established.
That said, there are some cases of marijuana use causing things like fatal heart attacks, but the drug typically ruins lives in other cruel ways.
@GuffyNicola@20committee So what if you think that? Still doesn't answer where PH has claimed that bad generals were only a British problem. Will you quote where he says it? I gave a quote of him saying otherwise.
@GuffyNicola@20committee Stupid advice is stupid advice. Where are you going with this? It was a fairly simple question that should be answerable with a direct quote. Otherwise, I can just assume you're trying a Guffins word twister special.
@GuffyNicola@20committee How does criticism of the British government and of Haig become the claim that bad generals in WW1 were a uniquely British problem? I've not read PH say that anywhere, and I have quoted him suggesting otherwise.
@20committee "There were many bad generals in WW1. Your belief that this was a uniquely British problem is just bizarre." - Where has this come from?
E.g. "Its (French) armies were so incompetently led, and so many men needlessly sacrificed in moronic frontal charges" -- Peter Hitchens
@GarryLavin@ClarkeMicah Man behind the Modena attack:
"He declared that he uses cannabis."
"I knew a very precise boy. He was always top of the class." A few years ago, however, she noticed a change.
"He was hearing strange voices and diagnosed with schizoid personality disorder"

@GarryLavin@ClarkeMicah Italian reports say that Modena car attack suspect "declared from the beginning that he used cannabis" - "dichiarato dall’inizio di fare uso di cannabis"
--
"He never showed violent tendencies. He had a psychotic episode, possibly related to cannabis"

@ukkcbeard@ShaunSummersgil@ClarkeMicah@TweeterReynolds Talking of hearing voices, as shown in the screenshot above, Professor Robin Murray notes that symptoms of marijuana-induced madness include extreme paranoia and hearing voices.
