Global military spending is again at a high record of USD 2.9 trillion in 2025, this marks the eleventh consecutive year of increase.
On Wednesday, 29 April 2026, FPCI Middle Powers Studies Network (MPSN), in collaboration with the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), held a virtual public discussion on “Update on Global Military Spending 2026”.
The discussion explored the latest global military expenditure trends, regional spending dynamics, key strategic drivers, and how middle powers are responding to rising defense pressures.
