“To be loved but not known is comforting but superficial. To be known and not loved is our greatest fear. But to be fully known and truly loved is what it means to be loved by God.” - Tim Keller
@timkellernyc Having just been diagnosed with glioblastoma in March 2021, I will NEVER turn down prayers for healing, but I try to pray more for the presence of the healer than the healing and to bring honor and glory to Him. It’s tough sometimes.
@jt_english@timkellernyc Great article especially since I was diagnosed with glioblastoma in March 2021. Also read “A Love That Will Not Let Me Go”a collection of sermons by Christians through the ages about dying with dignity and while honoring Christ.
@jayctigerfan My wife and small child would not have survived medical school date nights without Olive Gardens unlimited soup, salad, and breadsticks. Also cheap entertainment watching my son wrestle a breadstick into his mouth!
A prior Covid infection gives you some immunity, but immunity differs from person to person and it's difficult to determine how strong your immunity is and for how long it will last. Get vaccinated to boost your protection against the virus.
@4N6Steve @CanuckManMD I ALWAYS complement our environmental service people. They make us doctors look GOOD. Patients often judge their physicians on the cleanliness of the room
@DrGRuralMD Check your child’s Babinski while you’re at it. Doesn’t mean anything clinically, but since he/she isn’t fully myelinated, it will likely be positive. Fun facts for waiting around with little one!
@DGlaucomflecken There are two kinds of dog pissing behaviors. The “check the mail/leave some mail” piss (typically on walks) and the empty the whole thing before coming into the house. Hope this helps!!
@AmyGDalaMD I have glioblastoma and was referred to palliative care pretty early at Mayo. Smaller hospitals may not have access to these important services. They have been very helpful to me and family!!
@edwardpingenot I am 7 months out from my diagnosis of glioblastoma. I retired at 59 & don’t know how much time that I have left, but we are making the most of each day. Fortunately I have very supportive biological and church families that really help my family out. I am so sorry for your loss.
@tricotae @rbarbosa91@crwequine My pastor saw my “Pocket Pharmacopeia” in my shirt pocket once. He informed me that in Greek “pharmacopoeia” is translated as “sorcery”in the New Testament. Yay!
@DrLeslie_MD There were septic tank/portapotty truck company in Augusta, GA that had “We’re number one in the number two business “ on the back! They do make civilized life possible!!
