WC3 Draft #3

For those following this adventure and this team, I have already activated my WC chip tonight for GW3.
What prompted me to activate it tonight and not wait until closer to the deadline?
Quite simply, https://t.co/exP5HecSEh has just posted that it is very likely that Gvardiol will go up in price tonight, but if I can save £0.1m, then buying him now within the flexible WC framework would seem to be a logical course of action.

Sorry, just realised what your point was viz-a-viz Gabby and Saka.
Two top picks and I'm hoping that Solio FPL Analytics includes both in its final WC3 solution. Palmer is definitely someone I'd want to back this year, but where to find the funds? Downgrading Gabby is a good place to begin, but then there is a minutes risk with the rest of the Arsenal defence. I'm glad I've handed the decision-making over to their Defaul preset for this season at least.

@ScumWestie If you're trying to find funds for other players it's hard to ignore Konsas's £4.5m price tag.
Gabby will always be an awesome pick, but unfortunately £100m only goes so far. Tarkowski also part of the discussion.🙂

@FPL_Cantona7 Chelsea play Arsenal in GW3, so i don't want him for that, and the plan is to Free Hit to bring him in for GW4 against Hull.
There are hundreds of possible pathways, but affordability means that fixtures sometimes need to be targetted in order to maximise the budget available.

WC3 Draft #2
I must admit that I'm much happier with this second WC3 draft which the Solio FPL Analytics Model (Default Preset) has offered as its top solution this afternoon.
Got to admit that having no Arsenal defenders in the first draft bothered me a bit.
I've got a really good feeling about this draft (though Ndiaye's future is still in doubt. However, Solio's Solver will know this by Tuesday night at the latest, just like the rest of us. The difference is the speed at which it will be able to process this information and come up with alternative pathways. Stay tuned!

Haaland was a minutes risk in GW1, so much so that other assets had a higher EV, though it was very close.
For GW2 it would then have been necessary to take a hit. The alternative was to leave Isak where he was which worked out fine.
On top of that not playing Haaland in GW1 allowed his £15.5m cost to be spread across other assets with a view to having a strong bench.
As it turns out, that didn't work, but football is played by humans and not a computer model.
I agree that Haaland is incredible, but for a BB1 his price allowed for a stronger team. Let's not forget that Haaland blanked in GW1.
Haaland will be in my WC3 squad, so in reality I only missed out on his 13 points, less the 8pts that Isak scored, so 5 points lost in total. It's a long season and we're not even through GW2.

Waking up this morning and remembering that I had zero Man City players on the pitch last night, so missed the Haaland and Cherki hauls.
I also didn't rush out last night to buy Cherki.
I saw something in Cherki at the World Cup and again last night that would make me as a manager not want to play him.

Anyway, I'm an analytics man and none of my players have yet to touch a ball in GW2. I trust analytics because these are the scenarios where I usually jump on the bandwagon.
Patience is the greatest virtue that analytics teaches.

The WC is built by Solio's FPL Analytics Model (Default Preset) which I am following for this season (with the permission and support of the model creators themselves).
It is a dynamic programme so the actual wildcard team and squad is likely to change multiple times between now and the GW3 deadline.

The actual squad chosen therefore is highly unlikely to put a dead asset on the bench as this would raise the risk exposure of my team overall.
The model works out numerous pathways and uses optimal squads in order to reduce the number of transfers used throughout a season.
I have chose (The default option) which is quite a conservative solver, so barring injuries or suspensions, my bench should always be relatively robust.
I am actually following this Analytics solver blindly this season. I am trying desperately to have as little input into this team and its structure as possible. It's an experiment to see if Solio's Default Model can win my mini-league..🙂

@fpl_tactician I'm a bit amazed by that too, but clearly Solio has weighed up the potential gains v potential minutes v cost and decided that Saka is a better bet. However, I have no doubt this WC draft will change at least 5 times this week as market data filters through.
