Last season after GW1 in #FPL I had 100+ points, this year I have 65. Why? The 50/50 calls simply did not go my way. The pricing this year and the large amount of choice & drafts can cause anxiety. To the #FPLCommunity don't beat yourself up & I hope this thread is useful.

Be self aware of your mental heuristics. Read https://t.co/KBxOmi1XaF. Did they lead to cognitive biases? Did you pick players from the team you support, biased because you hoped they would return rather than analysis of the actual probability they would?

Argument: Bench boost now as players are cheap & will play.
Justification: Get it out of the way. With more of a handle on COVID there may be fewer DGWs & I will use my 3xCaptain then. Get in while players are cheap using pre-season data.

I see a lot of player conundrums in the #FPLCommunity right now. The left and right sides of my brain are still deciding the higher level #FPL GW1 decisions. Once these are done the players will take care of themselves.

Argument: Bench boost later when more data and DGWs.
Justification: Successful bench boost is 16+ points. Odds are higher during double game week or play it after one of the wild cards. Wait till you have data on 5 subs & promoted teams.

Last years #FPL winner got 2844. Thats an average of 28.44 per £m. Granted captain choices and chips make a difference but based on the great stuff by @fplAnalytics (https://t.co/OiGgHBT5xO) #BigAtTheBack seems the way to go.

Predicting clean sheets in #FPL is always tricky. I created this matrix (caps = at home & ? = tight call) to help with the keeper & defender choices up to the first wildcard. Interesting to see how far off the #FPLCommunity thinks this is.
