New WS Goggles - Broadcom AP6256 for Wifi and Macrosilicon MS1858E for analog in confirmed! Also looks like a Smartsens SC850SL based 4K cam is in the works. All still Artosyn AR9201 based, don't expect any major changes to the base system.
@ahmetkocamese In the making yes. We have a technical method, but it still needs a bunch of work to make it safe to use for users. No concrete ETAs I'm afraid.
@_leifen_ A few parts are available online, but not the core "air unit" if you will. Release should be next week though and this solution really is a bit janky anyway.

@BeefyBeef15 Most of what they’re saying is technically true, but actual work on the range limit has been stalled for a while now. Other priorities yes, but we also hit a pretty hard wall of technical complexity on this issue specifically.
@dronemodelismo If you mean the Goggles 2 I've heard some rumors, but it's unconfirmed if they will work with the old air side. I personally kind of doubt it due to some architectural differences between the old DIY and FPV drone modes. Could happen if DJI wanted to make it happen of course.
@Squaddingquads We are looking at the start of a mechanism for injecting custom layers into the existing DJI GUI. We already have MSP display port (which is not exactly the same as canvas mode) working, but it requires you to switch between it and the original GUI for now.
This took far too long to figure out, primarly due to chasing down dead ends. Some kinks left to work out, but we have a starting point for actually injecting stuff into the DJI GUI now.

Artosyn’s other customers include Autel, Hubsan and ZeroZero. So nothing new under the sun and I think you are giving the three letter company too much credit.
@Painy90536953 Considering what we know about the Goggles 2 already, they're very likely to be significantly more expensive. So the FPV Goggles V2 will stick around as a lower end option and for people with fleets of Air Units/Vistas.
DJI Goggles 2, O3 Air Unit and Avata got FCC filings today: https://t.co/H7HAmqFw4h. My (somewhat informed) speculation: 4K action cam and VTX combo, modular on Avata. FPV Goggles V2 are likely to stick around in some form. Expect an announcement sooner rather than later.

My thinking so far is that they're trying to bamboozle someone not very technically inclined and chose the old Virtex 5 so that pricing could be somewhat believable. A competitor dumb enough to fall for it shouldn't be a threat anyway, so who are they trying to fool?
So, the Walksnail situation so far: FW not encrypted, Artosyn SDK + clearly rushed GUI implementation by Caddxslow. No DJI code involved. Targeting SoC codenamed "Sirius". Most probably fake markings on the package. Thanks @ydnubm for the teardown. More to follow.
@arywidos@ydnubm There is a time honored tradition of reverse engineering DJI products and a whole community behind it. We did the exact same for the DJI FPV system including giving you the ability to install your own software, for which these early bits are crucial. It just took a little longer.
