@mrallanmaths It's a really tricky thing to deal with. I'm presuming you're not allowed to say no.
I make my pupils leave their phone before going to the toilet. It doesn't stop them wanting to go but at least I know they're not just hanging out in toilet playing on their phone.
@andrewkbailey13@mrallanmaths Absolutely agree. Certainly for maths, SG being over two years allowed for more depth and reasoning to be built in instead of a 1 year rush. I'd be very disappointed to see mandatory units brought back.
I set up a Blue-sky account a while ago but hadn't been using it. Going to try to use it more for sharing what's going on in my classroom.

@pml_pawdaw I'm alright, thanks ๐. Just venting. I'm not great at actually expressing my feelings IRL. Just got annoyed at the mansplaining I got ๐
Pet peeve: when youโve done something as a favour for someone, and rather than saying thanks, they tell you how to do it better (in their opinion) ๐ก๐ก๐ก
@ChrisMcGrane84 @scottishmaths I used to go every year and loved it but since moving up north, the travel time is just a bit too much for me to do in one day.
Iโd love if there could be an online conference.
@MrMcEnaney N4 maths, most of the pupils who may have been able to make the progression from N4 to N5 have been pushed into taking N5 in S4 instead. This means pupils left taking N4 in S4 are those who would have been Foundation SG. They struggle to complete N4 Maths, esp now with AVU back.
@MrTilston I'm not really sure. Mathematically, I would agree that synthetic division raises some grey areas but whether that would impact on the marks, I'm not sure. I'm presuming the marking scheme doesn't offer any advice.
