KIKO, BAM HIGHLIGHT FOOD SECURITY, EDUCATION, AND GOOD GOVERNANCE IN FIRST 100 DAYS Senators Kiko Pangilinan and Bam Aquino released their respective 100-day accomplishment reports, outlining legislative priorities centered on food security, education reform, and government transparency. Pangilinan, who chairs the Senate Committees on Agriculture, Justice, and Constitutional Amendments, described his first months in office as "a race against time" to bring down food prices and strengthen the livelihoods of farmers and fisherfolk. He led hearings on agricultural smuggling and the rising cost of food, citing the urgency of addressing hunger and the impact of the Rice Tariffication Law (RTL) on local producers. He also pushed for amendments to the RTL, the prosecution of smugglers, and the creation of a Congressional Commission on Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food Security (AGRICOM) to recommend long-term reforms.
