๐ฐTax PQs - August and September 2024๐ฐ
I have collected answered PQs on tax matters, both in the Commons and in the Lords, between August and September 2024, and grouped them by topic. Here's what MPs have been asking about๐
@DanNeidle@JudithFreedman From my spreadsheet (Iโve been collecting this since October 2023), there have been 11 PQs answered on VAT and defibrillators, by far the largest proportion!
โผ๏ธ This thread only addresses questions that the Department has answered - there's more tax PQs that have been asked but are awaiting answer, which will be in future graphsโผ๏ธ
๐ธTax Parliamentary Questions - July 2024๐ธ
I collected written PQs asked (mainly) to the Treasury relating to tax, and grouped them by topic, covering the period 17-31 July (17 July was the first day PQs could be tabled again) - see result below ๐
Interesting to see what MPs are interested in and how they choose to raise issues - expecting a big uptick in tax PQs during September/October as we approach the Budget on October 30th!
Welcome (or welcome back) to all MPs in the new Parliament! ๐ฌ๐ง The House of Commons Library is now open for business and we've already received our first enquiry!
Finance Bill (No.2) 2024 completed its public bill committee stage in a single session this morning, with MPs taking just 90 minutes to debate and agree clauses on Stamp Duty Land Tax, Transfer of Assets Abroad, HICBC and other aspects of the tax system. #FinanceBill
