I’m so thrilled! My second PhD paper with @brouwer_susanne & @ozyurek_a @GestureSignLab has been published online in Psychological Science https://t.co/3FCtkghpUz. We show that iconic signs and speech can influence each other in bimodal bilinguals.

And we're live! The Communicative Brain lab (@MPI_NL) joined Twitter, and we're excited to share more on our work on multimodal communication in the brain in the months to come... #newlab#greatstart🧠👋
Francie Manhardt will defend her dissertation ′′A tale of two modalities: How modality shapes language production and visual attention "March 12, 2021,14.30 p.m. @Radboud_Uni Here is an NGT summary by @1_2_Communicate@CLSRadboud

In this open access article we show that knowledge of sign language can influence speech in hearing bimodal bilinguals by enhancing semantic specificity in speech. This was found in domain of spatial language where sign languages prefer iconic expressions.(1/2)
I can’t believe it - my books finally arrived. Still feels unreal to have the final product in my hands after more than 4 years of work. Thanks @GestureSignLab and @brouwer_susanne for getting me here. #phdlife
Great news: @DondersWonders, our science blog, has won the Communication Award of the @NWO_Science🥳👏The jury praised the bloggers for the impact and reach of the articles they write and called the way the blog is organised ‘an inspiration’.

Great discussion between @1_2_Communicate & @franciemanhardt on the negative impact of covid in the communication of the #deaf community including wearing non-transparent face-masks, eye gaze during Zoom meetings, and teaching a #signlanguage online. #ngt
