USA. Yellowstone. I met a warrior of two thousand pounds, and I was the only one who bowed.

He stood in the meadow like a hill that had decided to grow fur. The bison. Horned. Ancient. Wearing winter on his shoulders in the middle of June.

The visitors adore him. "Look at the fluffy cow!" said a woman, with real love in her voice. Fluffy cow. They speak of him the way one speaks of a beloved dog. I understand the affection. I cannot share the familiarity.

Because I have read the sign. The sign says he runs three times faster than a man. The sign says stay back twenty-five yards. That is not a warning. That is a herald, announcing a lord.

"In my land," I told the park ranger, "we would not call him fluffy. We would give him a name with thirteen syllables and build him a small shrine."

"Twenty-five yards works too," she said.

So I paid my respects from twenty-five yards. I planted my feet. I bowed — the full bow, the one for generals. The bison chewed, and watched me, and chewed.

My heart was not calm. The sign also says he can charge without warning. I bowed efficiently. Dignity has gears.

"He acknowledged you," said the ranger.

"He did not."

"No, he did not," she agreed. "But you did the right thing anyway."

That is the whole art, is it not. He owes me nothing. He fought wolves and winters and centuries, and won, and he does not need my bow. The bow was never for him to accept. It was for me to give.

Respect does not need to touch. It bows from twenty-five yards, and the meadow understands.

I will return every year. Same meadow. Same distance. He will not remember me.

That changes nothing. One does not bow to be remembered.

As Shabbat approaches this evening, Psalm 92 will be read in synagogues and homes across Israel and the Jewish world.

Every time I witness evil seemingly triumph or experience betrayal, I find great comfort in these words:

Those who hate God and His people may seem to have their way for a little while, but their end is certain - eternal destruction.

Stay close to the Lord and to His Word. Tell others about Him, and “redeem the time, because the days are evil” (Ephesians 5:16, NKJV).

USA. A Mexican restaurant. We had not yet ordered anything, and the food was already arriving.

Chips. Salsa. Unrequested. Free.

I stopped the waiter. "We have not earned these."

"They just come with the table, man."

They come with the TABLE. In my land, hospitality is a debt. Every gift creates an obligation, weighed carefully, returned in the proper season with interest of feeling. Here, the gift arrives before you have even proven you can pay for dinner.

This is not an appetizer. This is a declaration: we trust you. Eat.

I ate with the gravity the moment deserved. And then — I must report this calmly — the basket emptied, and a new one appeared.

"Did we…?"

"Refill," the waiter said. "It's bottomless."

Bottomless. They have wells of salsa. The supply lines of this nation are beyond anything my ancestors imagined.

My friend warned me. "Don't fill up on chips, dude."

Too late. I had accepted three baskets. Honor demanded each one be finished — an unfinished gift is an insult. By the time my actual food arrived, I was a ruined man.

On This Day — June 7, 1981

43 years ago today, Israel pulled off what many experts called an impossible suicide mission: a 1,000-mile surprise airstrike deep into enemy territory to blow up Saddam Hussein’s Osirak nuclear reactor — just weeks before it was to go live with enriched uranium fuel.

In Operation Opera, eight Israeli F-16s escorted by F-15s flew low across hostile airspace over Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq — without aerial refueling.

In 1981, this was considered borderline insane. The distance, the risk of detection by multiple Arab air forces, and no backup plan made it look like a one-way mission. Most believed the planes would never return.

Yet they all completed their mission and returned home safely.

Israel had every reason to fear a nuclear Saddam:

- Saddam had sworn to destroy Israel and “burn half of it with chemical weapons.”

- Iraq had never signed a ceasefire and remained technically at war with Israel.

- Saddam was already gassing his own Kurdish citizens and building one of the most brutal regimes on earth.

Prime Minister Menachem Begin, whose parents and brother were murdered in the Holocaust, carried a deep personal mission: “I will not be the man in whose time there will be a second Holocaust.”

Diplomacy had completely failed. France and Italy sold the reactor for oil. The U.S. knew the danger but wouldn’t act. Israel stood alone.

Despite fierce internal opposition and enormous risks — international isolation, retaliation, and danger to its fragile peace with Egypt — Begin gave the order.

At 6:35 PM local time, the jets struck with surgical precision. In just 80 seconds, the reactor was reduced to rubble. Iraqi defenses were caught completely off guard.

The world erupted in outrage. The UN Security Council condemned Israel. The U.S. suspended fighter jet deliveries. Begin shot back: “What we have done is the ultimate act of self-defense.”

Even President Reagan later acknowledged:

“I do think that one has to recognize that Israel had reason for concern, viewing the past history of Iraq that has never signed a ceasefire or recognized Israel as a nation.”

Islam – The Way to God by Submission? Exposing the Supremacist Surrender Demanded by Qur’anic Doctrine

The name “Islam” is constantly sold to the West as the religion of peace achieved through simple submission to God. That is a deliberate half-truth designed to conceal the full demand. The Arabic root “s-l-m” does indeed carry the idea of submission or surrender, but in the context of the Qur’an it means total, unconditional surrender to allah and to the commands delivered through Muhammad.

A Muslim is not merely one who prays or gives charity. A Muslim is one who submits his life, his laws, his nation, and his conscience to the supremacy of Islamic rule. Anything less is labeled disbelief and carries eternal consequences.

Islamic doctrine makes the requirement explicit and non-negotiable. Quran 3:85 declares, “And whoever desires other than Islam as religion—never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers.”

Quran 9:29 commands Muslims to fight those who do not believe in allah or the Last Day until they pay the jizyah (protection tax) while they are humbled.

Quran 5:51 forbids taking Jews and Christians as allies, stating that “whoever is an ally to them is one of them.”

These are not optional pieties or historical footnotes. They define submission as political and religious dominance over every non-Muslim, enforced by law, by pressure, and ultimately by the sword when resistance appears.

The Five Pillars (declaration of faith, prayer, almsgiving, fasting, pilgrimage) are the visible rituals, but the hidden engine is the command to expand Islamic authority until “all religion belongs to allah” (Quran 8:39).

Biblical truth stands in total opposition. Scripture never commands national or civilizational surrender to a foreign ideology. True submission is personal, voluntary, and directed solely to Jehovah God through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. John 14:6 records the words of the Lord: “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Acts 4:12 adds, “There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Christianity offers redemption by grace, not by ritual submission or enforced tax.

It builds distinct nations with borders and just laws (Acts 17:26) rather than erasing them under a single global caliphate. Where Islam demands dhimmitude (subjugated non-Muslim status) for those who refuse conversion, the Bible calls believers to love their neighbors while refusing to hand them over to spiritual or political tyranny.

Muhammad’s own history confirms the pattern. In 630 C.E., after the conquest of Mecca, he purged the Ka’bah of idols and rededicated it exclusively to allah, ending the pre-Islamic era of Jahiliyyah (ignorance). That act was not mere reform—it was the establishment of supremacy.

Every subsequent expansion followed the same logic: submit or face consequences. Fourteen centuries of history, from North Africa to Europe to South Asia, record the same trajectory wherever Islamic doctrine gained the upper hand. Peace existed only for those who submitted fully. Dissenters became second-class subjects or targets of jihad.

The modern West is now repeating the ancient error by treating “submission” as a harmless synonym for tolerance. It is not. It is the theological foundation for infiltration, parallel societies governed by Shariah (Islamic law), demands for special privileges, and the steady erosion of biblical foundations that once produced ordered liberty.

Christians are not called to hate individuals caught in this system. We are called to speak the truth plainly and to defend the civilization built on the rock of Christ rather than the sand of a false prophet’s revelations.

This is no path to God. It is a path to domination dressed in religious language. The only genuine submission that saves is surrender to the Lord Jesus Christ, who offers forgiveness, not subjugation, and eternal life, not perpetual earthly conquest. Anything else is spiritual deception with civilizational consequences.

A church in Atlanta was honoring one of its senior pastors who had been retired many years. He was 92 at that time and I wondered why the church even bothered to ask the old gentleman to preach at that age.

After a warm welcome, introduction of this speaker, and as the applause quieted down, he rose from his high back chair and walked slowly, with great effort and a sliding gait to the podium.

Without a note or written paper of any kind he placed both hands on the pulpit to steady himself and then quietly and slowly he began to speak....

"When I was asked to come here today and talk to you, your pastor asked me to tell you what was the greatest lesson ever learned in my 50-odd years of preaching. I thought about it for a few days and boiled it down to just one thing that made the most difference in my life and sustained me through all my trials. The one thing that I could always rely on when tears and heartbreak and pain and fear and sorrow paralyzed me...

The only thing that would comfort was this verse....
