Let's #choosetochallange the silence on Priti Patel's plans to detain asylum seeking women in the UK this International Women's Day. #IWD2021@SSOonline
@David_Cameron even the tories are having to go back on your 'austerity' measures now - because austerity, and the way you ran the economy, DID NOT WORK
A week ago @TowerHamletsLRU wrote to @ClarionSupport: when will Clarion accept their demands and ensure that Daniel succeeds his tenancy, that his rent arrears are wiped, and that their property is repaired?
@pritipatel clearsprings allegations: shame on you.
We want transparency on how 9 people died in accommodation supplied by the home office whilst waiting for their asylum cases.
Stop contracting to your mates and put human rights first. Including fair pay and claim to asylum.
@redial999@pritipatel Misleading news....
Asylum seekers aren't legally allowed to work. The "cash allowance" is just £37. 75 per week.
Unlike economic migrants, many asylum seekers are forced to leave their countries, friends or homes, fearing their life.
What would you do?
@Chellone@redial999@pritipatel Asylum seekers aren't legally allowed to work.
The government "cash flow", or benifits is just £36.95 a week. That is 50% of what people on job seekers allowance receive. Imagine trying to live off that? Accommodation is poor and many end up in shared hostel accommodation.
@pritipatel A nasty statement playing on nationalism, tax and the army for populism... Typical tory.
Personally I find this statement very offensive and unempathetic.
And let's all remember that priti Patel is actually officially a bully... 🙄
@blackhills33@sazmeister88@RichardBentall@BBCNewsnight@lewis_goodall I think corbyn inspired alot of the younger generation who wouldn't otherwise even think about voting, and it's a shame to negate that all together and label the further left side of the party a failure. All the press and system was against them. Their policies= widely well liked
The Organise Network just got a shoutout in Parliament! Great to see @ChrisStephens citing our members' huge contribution to the consultation on #BasicIncome. Now @CommonsWorkPen will you invite the Organise Network to give oral evidence to your committee?
@TWT_NOW What I like about it is that no idea is ever shot down and people are encouraged to feel comfortable within debate, a factor which I feel is often lacking in the left! And it has drawn me very close to TWT!
@TWT_NOW#TWT5years starting as a volunteer in video 5 years ago, my favourite part of twt was the liberty given to create my role and grow with the festival. Sincerely! I now work with the festival and find it such a vibrant and open minded community that I feel fully a part of!!
The self employed work extremely hard to run their own businesses in this country, many which have come to a standstill during covid. I am a camera operator and my work has dried up. Winter will be hard. Please issue a 3rd SEISS grant in your announcement today @RishiSunak
I will respectfully challenge the Government - I want our country to succeed.
However, I will not 'watch my tone' when dozens of NHS and care staff are dying unnecessarily.
A clip of my Q to the Health Sec today.
@hoftof5@MarkDrakeford@jeremycorbyn They're not borderline Marxist btw, yfi. And can't see what's wrong with equality and fairness. And a second referendum. Democracy??
