The United States asked Ukraine not to strike Moscow while senior American officials are visiting the russian capital, including CIA Director John Ratcliffe.
Think about that.
When American officials travel to Moscow, Washington apparently has no problem asking Ukraine: Do not attack Moscow while we are there.
But just days earlier, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner canceled their planned visit to Kyiv around Ukraine’s Independence Day because of “heavy russian air strikes on the city.”
So why didn’t Washington simply ask russia: Do not attack Kyiv while American officials are there?
Apparently, the United States can ask Ukraine to stop bombing russia to protect American officials in Moscow. But it cannotask russia to stop bombing Ukraine to protect American officials in Kyiv.
Instead, Witkoff and Kushner canceled their trip.
This tells you something important about American diplomacy under Trump.
Washington repeatedly demands restraint from Ukraine while accommodating russia. It expects Kyiv to adjust its military actions around American diplomacy, while seemingly accepting that Moscow will continue bombing Ukrainian cities whenever it wants.
You cannot be an honest broker when the rules apply only to one side.
That is blatant hypocrisy.
Did I ever mention, this is what ‘people first’ politics looks like?
It’s all in the title. PEOPLE FIRST, not oligarchs first. Making the rich richer at the expense of the many is a choice. The sooner we recognise that the sooner we will stop being the turkeys voting for Thanksgiving.

But the medals are no longer received by the defenders themselves — their families accept them instead.
Eternal memory...
Thirty-five years ago, a coup by Soviet hardliners in Moscow tried to preserve an empire by force. It achieved the opposite.
Lithuania had already restored its independence. As the coup collapsed, Estonia and Latvia restored theirs. Ukraine restored independence on this day in 1991.
In Belarus, the Declaration of State Sovereignty became constitutional law on August 25. Moldova declared independence two days later.
Within months, the Soviet Union ceased to exist.
Today, the Kremlin is again using war, coercion and interference to deny neighbouring nations the right to choose their own future.
Ukraine is defending its independence on the battlefield. The Belarus regime is trading away our sovereignty to preserve its own power.
Moldova and the Baltic states continue to face Russian pressure and hybrid threats.
History reminds us that empires can appear permanent until they suddenly collapse.
Ukraine must win. Belarus must be free. Every nation has the right to decide its own path and live in freedom and peace.
The road to hell is paved with "good intentions".
This photo is from the last two months. Take a good look at these two tourniquets. Both cheaply made (in China) and look frightfully similar to ones that are currently being produced by this volunteer group because I am sure they are produced in the same country.
This soldier died by the way. Both tourniquets failed.
I will not accept any tourniquets that are made in China. The lives of my brothers are priceless. I would rather work a 24 hour day between my medic duties and raising funds for properly produced and approved tourniquets than have to tell someone their son or daughter died because they received a cheaply made tourniquet which might as well be like having none.
Listen to me and all the other medics, I beg you, please. We need proper tourniquets. Not a "take the easy route" solution.
From the comments;
The Heritage Foundation is running the show and this has been their plan for decades they just didn’t have anyone corrupt enough and along came Trump.
Latvian Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs called for Europe to use €200 billion in frozen Russian assets, saying Moscow must begin paying for its attacks on Ukraine. He argued that the financial burden of the war should not fall on EU citizens. “Why should EU citizens pay the bill for the war? The Russians should,” Kulbergs said. #Ukraine
Trump has repeatedly revealed his thirst to silence critics, and the Ellisons have revealed their eagerness to help him.

Hillary Clinton: Fastest way to end war in Ukraine is for Trump to weigh in much more forcefully on Ukraine’s side. Sadly, I don’t think he’ll do that. Whatever hold Putin has on him, he can’t bring himself to criticize Putin or take any lasting position of strength against him.
“No matter how insurmountable the odds may seem, good will prevail. Ukrainians prove this every single day. I’m honored to stand with you. Glory to Ukraine! And may the Force be with you all!”

A top Canadian official just announced they will be specifically targeting red states in their new effort to retaliate against Trump’s 50% tariffs:
“We have to focus on the red states. The red states are Republican. The red states we're gonna hit hard.”
