I had a good call with @POTUS on strengthening our joint efforts to increase economic pressure on Russia through additional measures.
The Commission will soon present its 19th package of sanctions, targeting crypto, banks, and energy.
Russia’s war economy, sustained by revenues from fossil fuels, is financing the bloodshed in Ukraine.
To put an end to it, the Commission will propose speeding up the phase-out of Russian fossil imports.
How do gold and silver respond differently in trade wars?

Just spoke with Nick on @BBCr4today about Labour's £28 billion green investment pledge, which seems arbitrary and kinda getting in the way. The biggest economic opportunity we have is achieving Energy Independence through harnessing our own clean energy sources - I would focus on that.
£50 billion a year leaves our economy and goes to fossil fuel states and dictators. We could restore and reinvest that money in our own economy. We can make and price all the energy we need right here, that’s a proper investment - maybe the word green is getting in the way.
