Yo this is my AP Lit account from high school. My Twitter is @tweetsbynao

[Naomi Frankel @frankel_naomi]

This happens every time I read this book.
It's so good. And it's a form of self awareness therapy for me.
Cheers to hopefully being a better person until the memory of this book slowly fades and have to reread it again next year.

Just reread Emma. I am now in a terrifying self-reflection internal cringe spiral.

What does it say about Offred that she didn't kill herself before the "eyes" came and took her?

[Naomi Frankel @frankel_naomi]

Offred discusses a desperate will to live and therefore to stop resisting. This seem to be a very common way to control people in societies

[Naomi Frankel @frankel_naomi]

When the women attack the Guardian at the salvaging it is a prime example of the sociology of crowds and how people act very unusually.

[Naomi Frankel @frankel_naomi]

As a woman in this society, which roll would you choose if you had to pick one?

[Naomi Frankel @frankel_naomi]

@lit_madeline it seems to me that it's mostly women who have slipped under the radar, whose disappearances won't be noticed.

[Naomi Frankel @frankel_naomi]

Ironic that Gilead was created to allow women dignity and to freedom from various things when they are objectified so harshly at the club.

[Naomi Frankel @frankel_naomi]

@JessieRich20 I wonder if it's bc Serena genuinely wants to help Offred or bc she can benefit greatly off of her.

[Naomi Frankel @frankel_naomi]

How do you think Offred's and Ofglen's relationship affects Offred? Do you think it will give or more will power or strength?

[Naomi Frankel @frankel_naomi]

In Gilead the Jews can either leave, convert, or be killed. This happens regrettably often today to many Jews in Africa and the Middle East

[Naomi Frankel @frankel_naomi]

@nbehrens90 yea it defiantly seems so. I hope Ofglen proves trustworthy.

[Naomi Frankel @frankel_naomi]

What is significant about the commander laughing about the butter? Does this show he is heartless or just ignorant?

[Naomi Frankel @frankel_naomi]

I liked how this section (with the flashback with Luke) addressed the importance of equality in marriage.

[Naomi Frankel @frankel_naomi]

@morelikeAPLegit me too. During the last section Moira high key became my favorite character.

[Naomi Frankel @frankel_naomi]

During the burg ceremony who do you feel worse for the Handmaiden giving birth or the wife who is unable to?

[Naomi Frankel @frankel_naomi]

Is the fact that handmaidens are allowed pain relieve medicine during birth another way for the Wives to punish them?

[Naomi Frankel @frankel_naomi]

Offred attempts to block a lot of things out to make her life easier. I feel like this society came to be bc a lot of people did that.

[Naomi Frankel @frankel_naomi]

@littleraskol It seems (through her memories) that things came to be like this very quickly. Atwood is warning us to be careful
