@ErnestMalley Were these vets as poorly treated as the UK atomic test veterans? Can’t imagine the Govt handed out medals despite the injuries and probable deaths.
@Peter_Fitz Just finished the first battle of Gaza. Unbelievable that Dobell ordered a withdrawal. The waste. Crackin read. My favourite yet, just pipping Batavia
@StephenWarne a) guideline judgments can only be issued by the CoA not County Court - Part2AA SA
b) Registry with head of division allocate cases not the Chief Judge
c) Law of evidence is a product of Parliament interpreted by CoA and High Court, county court judge can’t drain anything
@jeremy_gans @mweather2010 @EKerkyasharian@paulmcgorrery In practice esp for sex offence matters the court requires P to have canvassed the victims view on diversion so it becomes 3 party consideration for court determination of suitability
@jeremy_gans You really should start a version of Strict Scrutiny podcast based on our High Court. You’d be great, esp if you could use HCA clips. Make our court more accessible.
@ErnestMalley@Books2Cover Such a great book though. One of the best shortish overview AIF in WW1 books. So great at repeatedly breaking down our national myths.
Can't wait to get stuck in following @almurray strong recommendations in the Vichy france @WeHaveWaysPod episode. Love to see Douglas Porch on an episode in the future!
@RichardEGrant @FaneProductions Saw Perth and was like great! Coming back to Australia. (know you were just here) Not so lucky…. Fingers crossed for next time.
@MAJ_1868_1918 @Books2Cover Just finished AIF in battle. Should be compulsory reading in secondary or at least tertiary history. Unpacked all national myths in a respectful and methodical manner. Top recommendation.
@MediaAnalystOz Only need to look at the US, and the media prediction of a red wave in the midterms. The media are an echo chamber, out of touch and polling is relying on ppl picking up a private number and answering questions as they did 20yrs ago. It’s now how the majority of us engage. A joke
@pikerobert So far from that. Exceptional. A true testament to those who were brutally murdered. You have kept their memories alive with dignity and respect
@AlexGalpin79 @cluelesspegg @WeHaveWaysPod You weren't wrong. I thought I knew of nazi brutality but this is where opening, and for such menial 'crimes'. Powerful book.
