“[Auston Matthews] can’t do it being the number one guy… I’m not sure he’s got what it takes to be the leader.”

This whole narrative that’s being created that it’s the media and the fans fault for putting too much pressure on the team to win is quite comical.
Toronto has the most passionate fan base in the world and fans bleed blue and white for this team. I can tell you from someone that works in media that we absolutely want nothing more than to watch the Leafs win. We don’t put pressure on this team or players. If anything, some of us get criticized when we pump this teams tires for being as great as they’ve shown us they can be and wanting to believe that each year will be different. We react to the way they play. Is that what you call pressure?
So let’s be honest, pressure is built from within and from similar failure. I hate it and I believe every leafs fan hates it.
Toronto is undoubtedly one of the best hockey markets in the world to play because people care! The spotlight is huge and to me, that’s what playing sports is all about. Either you want it and find a way to thrive or you don’t. I would’ve loved to play in these playoff moments when I played for the Leafs. Unfortunately, the closest I got was being haunted by the name Wade Dubielewicz forever.
Is their pressure to play in it? Absolutely! But not because of the fans or media make it hard. It’s hard to play anywhere in the league when expectations aren’t met.
As far as what the future looks like for this team and players, there is no excuse for losing the way they did in game 5/7, BUT be careful what you wish for Leafs fans. Winning is hard in the NHL. This was a really good Leafs team that lost to an even better, really good FLA team.
I will share more of my thoughts tomorrow on @FirstUp1050 . Be sure to tune in.
@CarloColaiacovo The Core 4 cannot stay in tact. It just doesn't work, especially this time of year. Look at the team Chief had in 2019 here. Name any of those forwards that were more "talented" than the Core 4? But that team played like pack of pit bulls to win four rounds. Key word: team.
'This is really a big deal': Franco Terrazzano slams Carney Liberals for not tabling budget
Despite being touted by the Liberals as a 'financial wizard', Carney "can't even be bothered" to put together a budget, says Franco Terrazzano, federal director of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation.
On last night's episode of The Ezra Levant Show, Franco Terrazzano of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF) reacted to Mark Carney's refusal to present a budget, opting instead for a fall economic statement.
The CTF federal director took aim at the Carney Liberals for disrespecting Canadians through its decision not to present a budget.
"It's democracy 101 that a government tables a budget. They're spending hundreds of billions of dollars of our money," he said.
"A budget is probably the biggest time of the year where Canadians, taxpayers, can actually look into the state of our finances but then also hold the government accountable on its spending plans," Terrazzano added.
Ezra also slammed MPs for giving themselves pay raises with taxpayer funds while not allowing Canadians to see the government's real economic situation.
"Every April Fool's Day, the MPs automatically get a raise in pay...if they didn't get that raise in pay until they did their work and got a budget, we would have had that budget yesterday," he said.
Terrazzano went on to criticize Carney for previously proposing to add over $100 billion in additional debt to Canada. "Now we have Carney, who wants to add about a hundred billion dollars more of debt than what even Trudeau was planning to do," he explained.
"The banker was supposed to be better with the numbers than the drama teacher, but it's not looking like that anymore," said Terrazzano.
Carney's announcement to forgo a comprehensive federal budget in favour of a fall economic statement has sparked significant concerns about fiscal transparency and accountability.
Critics, including the CTF, argue this decision severely restricts Canadians' ability to scrutinize the government's financial priorities and spending plans.
