@TomerAzarly@ZachLowe_NBA The NBA language:
“The Clippers shall forfeit five first-round draft picks, one in each of the 2029, 2030, 2031, 2032, and 2033 NBA Drafts.”
But now they want to pick which ONE of those picks they forfeit?
Seems like they can fight this Pacers pick thing.
@FlyByKnite So basically they have a young core including a recent top 5 pick. They STILL have multiple first round picks AND have tons of cap space.
Not to mention, Ballmer will sue to reduce the punishment. Clippers will be just fine!
@ShamsCharania Language matters:
“The Clippers shall forfeit five first-round draft picks, one in each of the 2029, 2030, 2031, 2032, and 2033 NBA Drafts.”
They own multiple first rounds picks in some of those years. Thus, they’ll lose their own but still get their other pick.
@RiaOtero I also think language matters:
“The Clippers shall forfeit five first-round draft picks, one in each of the 2029, 2030, 2031, 2032, and 2033 NBA Drafts.”
They still own multiple picks in first rounds, so they’ll still draft in the first round. Savvy
@Ohmeomy I don’t think this is the final say. I can’t see Ballmer going quietly. I’m sure he will push to sue, ensuring there’s a better settlement. OR the NBA will need some serious PR because the Clippers will obtain all documents,notes, emails related to the investigation. Stay tuned
@BillPlaschke@MirjamSwanson FBI investigation.
A $12B sell to someone with connect to the Trump administration that can make the investigation go away.
@StephenM These scare tactics are old. People are not stupid. We started a war for no reason, grocery and gas prices are up, people are struggling with health care and all while the Republicans hold all three branches of government.
@ScottJenningsKY The same guy that was asking question about Biden’s age and health now wants McConell “back at work.”
“What do Republicans know, and when did they know it.”
Sound familiar?
