@owennurminen@hazan0608 This ultimately just comes down to structure.
When you work for someone else, they give you structure
In absence of this being externally imposed, when you have the ADHD mental phenotype, the highest ROI thing you can do is build your own systems + structure
Treadmill desk is the #1 investment you can make in your productivity, by a long shot
6k steps + ridiculous amounts of work done within an hour of waking up
Long term "monk mode" is actually an extreme verison of the comfort zone.
Physical pain is one thing, but the only real trigger of psychological discomfort is novelty.
Peat-esque view of productivity:
Productivity is momentum.
All productivity issues come from blockages in momentum.
There are various mechanisms at play, but they all come back to the same point
The way you deal with vices is never by trying to crush the source energy.
Your core desires are never the real problem. It's the outlets they run through.
Entertainment > scrolling > BOOKS
Competition > video games > SPORTS
Tastiness > junk food > GOOD RECIPES
Sociality > social media > REAL LIFE
Sexuality > p0rn > ACTUAL GIRLS
Vices aren't born from desires. They're born from outlets.
If you're not getting your work done, 95% of the time, it's one of 3 things:
1) You're spending too much time doing manager work.
2) You're not building momentum early in your morning.
3) You haven't put systems in place that automatically prevent distraction.
Fix these 3 and you'll be good.
When you're not getting your work done, your first instinct is to 2x your effort / hours.
This leads to you literally getting LESS done
On top of your poor approach, you're getting emotional + trying to FORCE it to work,
Causing it to work even less.
Productivity by flow, not by force.
What tweet were you reading 60s ago?
You can't remember.
Stop frying your short term memory with valueslop content.
